We are known for our Powder Thursdays...epic build up of that sweet powdery stuff Mother Nature sends to us every season!   • Food and Beverage Cashier

    Kitchen
    $12.00 / hour + tips

    Job Summary: Assists guests in purchasing food and beverages and helps to clean and stock the kitchen area. Wage: Base $12/hr DOE

    Status: Seasonal

    Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following:

    • Ensure customer satisfaction with efficient, friendly service.
    • Accurately ring up customer purchases, receive money and give change using a point of sales system or cash register.
    • Process credit card transactions.
    • Stock and clean register area.
    • Assist in maintaining dining area cleanliness.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Prior experience working with the public.
    • Cash handling experience.
    • Knowledge of the ski industry.

    Employees must be capable of standing and or walking for the majority of a work shift. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift and move heavier items. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in humid conditions. There will be occasional exposure to sharp and/or hot objects.

  • Groomer/Mechanic

    Shop
    $14.00 / hour

    Job Summary: Maintain, repair, and operate heavy equipment including snow cats, graders, loaders, plow trucks, and snowmobiles.    Wage: Base $14+/hr DOE

    Status: Seasonal

    Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following:

    • Responsible for startup, maintenance, and shutdown of equipment.
    • Operate snowcat equipment for grooming trails/runs to produce quality snow surface for guests.
    • Use grader, loader, and plow truck to plow and maintain road and parking lot.
    • Complete maintenance logs and checklists.
    • Work early morning in cold, wintry conditions.
    • Remove/relocate snow and ice from equipment and trails.
    • Advise supervisor/mechanics of adverse conditions or problems as appropriate.
    • Perform mechanical work on vehicle fleet (snowcats, graders, loaders, plow trucks, 4WD vehicles, ATVs and snowmobiles).
    • Perform all maintenance and repairs in a safe manner and in compliance with established guidelines.
    • Help plow and maintain parking lot using grader, loader and plow truck.
    • Remove/relocate snow and ice from equipment and trails.
    • Advise supervisor of adverse conditions or problems as appropriate.
    • Perform daily checks and maintenance of vehicles. 
    • Effectively communicate with others.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Qualifications Required: 

    • Ability to monitor machinery and fix any problems that arise.
    • Willingness to work as a team with operators/supervisors to ensure proper and safe operation/maintenance of vehicles.
    • Ability to evaluate rapidly changing conditions in machine, weather, and environment.
    • Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends/holidays.
    • Valid driver’s license

    Preferred Experience/ Education

    • Prior experience with welding and heavy equipment repair/maintenance.
    • Experience operating heavy equipment and/or grooming.
    • Experience operating a snowmobile.
    • Previous experience working in harsh outdoor conditions.
    • Knowledge of the ski industry.

    The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle objects tools or controls. Must be capable of walking, sitting or standing the majority of a work shift. Must be capable of occasionally lifting and pushing or pulling 50 lbs or more, and frequently lifting, pushing or pulling, and carrying up to 50 lbs. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

  • Janitor

    $12.00 / hour + tips

    Job Summary: Responsible for janitorial duties in and around the public facilities.

    Wage: Base $12/hr                                          
    Status: Seasonal  

    Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following:

      • Clean lodge dining area.
      • Efficiently clean and stock all bathrooms throughout the day.
      • Assist other departments with cleaning/maintenance issues.
      • Empty and transport garbage and recycling.
      • Other duties as assigned.

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

      • Strong skills enabling effective communication. with guests, co-workers, supervisors and managers.
      • General janitorial/cleaning skills.
      • Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends/holidays and emergency situations.

      • Previous experience in a janitorial position.
      • Prior experience working with the public and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Lift Operator

    $12.00 / hour

    Job Summary: Assists in loading and unloading of chairlifts while providing excellent guest service. Wage: Base $12/hr 

    Status: Seasonal

    Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following:

    • Maintain constant attention to surroundings while on duty.
    • Ensure guest satisfaction with friendly service and a positive attitude.
    • Become knowledgeable of all operational and emergency procedures.
    • Perform and document safety checks.
    • Maintain the condition and appearance of lift ramps and lift terminal areas. 
    • Prevent fraudulent lift access.
    • Effectively communicate with other employees and guests.
    • Work in outdoor winter conditions for extended periods of time.
    • Empty all lodge trash receptacles, replace liners and make sure the trash is loaded into the trash trailer at the end of the workday.
    • Clean all lodge tables and chairs at the end of the workday. 
    • Other duties as assigned.

     Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Strong communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
    • Must be safety conscious and able to make quick decisions.
    • Competent ski or snowboard ability, or the enthusiasm to learn how to ski or snowboard.

  • Rental/ Repair Technician

    Rental

    Job Summary: Assists guests renting equipment and repairs equipment when needed. Wage: Base $12/hr DOE

    Job Title: Rental/Repair Technician                                             Status: Seasonal                                          

    Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following:

    • Ensure customer satisfaction with efficient, friendly service
    • Answer all questions about ski/snowboard rental equipment
    • Fit boots and equipment to guests properly
    • Adjust bindings in accordance with skier/rider skill category
    • Stock and clean rental area

    • Clean and maintain lodge restrooms throughout the day

  • Shop/ Lift Technician

    Shop
    $12.00 / hour

    Job Summary: Learn/develop preventative maintenance skills and perform routine maintenance. Assist in conducting lift inspections and monitor the conditions of the lifts/ maintenance equipment. Wage: $12+/hr DOE

    Job Title:  Shop/ Lift Technician                               

    Status: Year-round

    Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following:

    • Inspect, rebuild, replace and document ski lift equipment to ensure lift compliance with all regulations and specifications.
    • Conduct and document daily pre-operational inspections
    • Regularly monitor the condition of assigned lifts and react to discrepancies accordingly
    • Work early morning in cold, wintry conditions.
    • Remove/relocate snow and ice from equipment and trails.
    • Perform mechanical work on vehicle fleet (snow cats, graders, loaders, plow trucks, 4WD vehicles, ATVs and snowmobiles).
    • Perform all maintenance and repairs in a safe manner and in compliance with established guidelines.
    • Remove/relocate snow and ice from equipment and trails.
    • Advise supervisor of adverse conditions or problems as appropriate.
    • Adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
    • Effectively communicate with other employees both in person and via telephone/two-way radio.

    Skills & Experience: 

    • Valid driver’s license required.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Basic knowledge of common hand and power tools is preferred.
    • Must be able to work outside during inclement weather.
    • Must be able to regularly lift and move 50 pounds.
    • Must be comfortable riding in a work chair and climbing/working on the ski lift towers using a harness.
    • Must be at least an intermediate skier or snowboarder in order to access all lift terminals in the winter.
    • Must be able to drive ATVs and snow machines.

    Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

    • None are required, however NDT Level II, Class 4 & 7 Lift, Truck and Welding certifications are highly recommended.

    Job Title: Snowsports Instructor Full and Part time(Ski and Snowboard)

    Reports to: Snowsports School Directors

    Status: Seasonal

    Wage: Base $10/hr Sliding scale based on experience and certification level

    Job Description: Lost Trail Powder Mountain is seeking new or experienced Ski and Snowboard Instructors.  Lost Trail Powder Mountain Snowsports School provides guests with instruction of the highest standard.  Snowsport School Instructors provide unparalleled learning experiences for our Guests and have the opportunity to develop into and be well rounded skier and snowboarder pros teaching private lessons, classes and programs to adults, families, and children. There is opportunity for instructors with advanced skills and experience to teach all levels of skiers and boarders, including advanced and expert adults and children.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Primary job is helping guests have a great experience while sharing the love of skiing/riding at Lost Trail Powder Mountain.
    • Must be able to clearly communicate information that is relevant in an enthusiastic manner to create an exceptional guest experience.
    • Instructs group, private and special program lessons of varying abilities as assigned.
    • Instruct students of any age, sex and learning abilities as assigned as young as 3 years old.
    • Serves as a public relations representative for Lost Trail, both on and off the job.
    • Initiates contact and greets guests in a friendly, helpful, and respectful manner.
    • Listens to guest needs and concerns. Then relates the message to management.
    • Looks for ways to better serve the guest, Snowsports, and Lost Trail Powder Mountain.
    • Makes continued effort to improve personal skiing/riding skill, teaching skills and coaching knowledge.

    Skills and Qualifications: 

    • Ability to share information and emotions that inspire guests to return to Lost Trail Powder Mountain and the Snowsports School.
    • Intermediate skier/rider ability with technical knowledge of skiing/snowboarding and snowsports safety.
    • Must be able to demonstrate skiing/snowboarding techniques clearly and accurately.
    • Complies with Lost Trail Powder Mountain employee handbook and Snowsports procedures and policies.
    • Maintains personal safety as a top priority.

  • Terrain Park Manager

    Terrain Park
    $13.00 / hour

    Job Summary: Supervises the building and maintenance of the terrain park and the terrain park technicians. Wage: Base $13/hr DOE

    Job Title:   Terrain Park Manager                                 

    Status: Seasonal

    Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following:

    • Create park signage, establish closures and trail markings, set fencing and banner tape.
    • Monitor terrain features by visual inspection and testing.
    • Maintain condition and appearance of terrain features, jumps, ramps, rails etc.
    • Assist with coordination of special events including erection and maintenance of equipment.
    • Participate and plan user education and training.
    • Remove or relocate snow as needed.

    • Accurately count till at end of shift and close out sale location and secure ticket window covers.

  • Yurt Services

  • Front Office Operations

    Job Summary: Maintains front office reception area. Wage: Base $13/hr DOE

    Job Title: Front Office Operations                           

    Status: Seasonal

    Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following: 

    • Greeting all guests entering office area.
    • Ensure guest satisfaction with friendly service and a positive attitude.
    • Able to handle difficult situations while staying calm and polite with an assertive manner.
    • Handling day to day paperwork and filing.
    • Courteously answering phone calls and returning voicemails daily.
    • Processing of specific pass holder visits
    • Print lift tickets and ensure the ticket count is correct. 
    • Recording end of day ticket window sales.
    • Organizing all season pass holder information including computer entry, sales and printing the passes.
    • Effectively communicate with other employees and guests.
    • Process front office ticket sales using a cash register and credit card machine.
    • Provide supervisor with feedback on employees and other job related matters.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Experience Preferred:

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Self-disciplined and self-motivated.
