  • Caretaker

    Shop

    Job Title: Caretaker                                                            Reports To: Director of Operations                                      Wage: To Be Determined                                                          Status: Year-round  
    Job Summary: Responsible for monitoring lodge facilities during hours of non-operation.Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following: 

      • Ensure security of the lodge, surrounding outbuildings and the parking lot.
      • Reside in apartment above the maintenance shop.
      • Secure lodge entrances and entrances of outlying buildings at the end of the work day.
      • Power generators on and off each business day.
      • Effectively communicate with other employees both in person and via telephone/two-way radio.
      • Other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.

    Required:

      • Strong skills enabling effective communication with guests, co-workers, supervisors and managers.
      • General self-organization skills.

    Job Summary: Maintain, repair, and operate heavy equipment including snow cats, graders, loaders, plow trucks, and snowmobiles.

    Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following:

    • Responsible for startup, maintenance, and shutdown of equipment.
    • Operate snow cat equipment for grooming trails/runs to produce quality snow surface for guests.
    • Use grader, loader, and plow truck to plow and maintain road and parking lot.
    • Complete maintenance logs and checklists.
    • Work early morning in cold, wintry conditions.
    • Remove/relocate snow and ice from equipment and trails.
    • Advise supervisor/mechanics of adverse conditions or problems as appropriate.
    • Perform mechanical work on vehicle fleet (snow cats, graders, loaders, plow trucks, 4WD vehicles, ATVs and snowmobiles).
    • Perform all maintenance and repairs in a safe manner and in compliance with established guidelines.
    • Help plow and maintain parking lot using grader, loader and plow truck.
    • Remove/relocate snow and ice from equipment and trails.
    • Advise supervisor of adverse conditions or problems as appropriate.
    • Perform daily checks and maintenance of vehicles.

    Job Summary: Responsible for janitorial duties in and around the public facilities.
    Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following:

      • Clean lodge facilities.
      • Efficiently clean and stock all bathrooms throughout the day.
      • Assist with snow removal, including shoveling and snow blowing.
      • Assist other departments with cleaning/maintenance issues.
      • Empty and transport garbage and recycling.
      • Effectively communicate with other employees both in person and via telephone/two-way radio.

    • Provide safe and efficient control of assigned lift at all times.
    • Perform and document safety checks.
    • Maintain condition and appearance of lift ramps and lift terminal areas.

    Job Summary: Oversee, direct and coordinate operations in the ski and snowboard rental/repair shops.

    Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following:

    • Ensure guest satisfaction with efficient, friendly service personally and through support staff
    • Train and certify all rental/repair staff 
    • Efficiently and effectively schedule staff in the rental/repair department
    • Answer all questions about ski/snowboard rental equipment
    • Fit boots and equipment to guests properly
    • Adjust bindings in accordance with skier/rider skill category
    • Coordinate stocking and cleaning in rental areas
    • Remove or relocate snow as needed
    • Effectively communicate with other employees both in person and via telephone/two-way radio
    • Oversee cleaning and maintaining lodge restrooms throughout the day
    • Work directly with ski/snowboard manufacturers to maintain levels of rental and demo equipment
    • Corroborate with Director of Snowsports School to be prepared for large groups of guests needing rental equipment.
    • Monitors and presents budgets to Director of Operations
    • Oversee cash register and computer input daily

    Ski Patrol

    Job Title: Ski Patroller Volunteer/Staff

    Job Summary: Promotes safety of mountain environment by performing the following duties.

     Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following:

    • Ensure customers are treated courteously, safely, and efficiently
    • Mitigate skiing hazards through appropriate and consistent markings and signage
    • Evaluate skiers for injuries and administer first aid with OEC training
    • Transport injured skiers by sled, toboggan or snowmobile
    • Mitigate avalanche hazards through the application of standard forecasting and control procedures
    • Enforce policies in a fair, consistent manner, including skier safety and speed control
    • Educate guests proactively
    • Anticipate and meet guests’ needs
    • Act as Mountain Dispatch
    • Positively assist and interact with other employees and departments
    • Maintain and improve patrol skills
    • Avalanche transceiver expertise

    • Instruct and educate guests in skiing or snowboarding using modern teaching techniques.
    • Select appropriate terrain for lesson according to guest skill level.

    • Work with children 3 years and older.

    • Maintain condition and appearance of terrain features, jumps, ramps, rails etc.
    • Assist with coordination of special events including erection and maintenance of equipment.
    • Participate and plan user education and training.
    • Remove or relocate snow as needed.
    • Effectively communicate with other employees and other departments both in person and via telephone/two-way radio.

    • Answer all customer questions about tickets and passes, as well as provide information about ski area services and events.
    • Be knowledgeable about all ticket and pass products and pricing and specials as well as the ski area map.
    • Accurately ring up customer purchases, receive money via cash and credit card and give change using register system.
    • Process daily vouchers and record special tickets sold.
    • Stock ticket windows and keep office clean.
    • Accurately count till at end of shift and close out sale location and secure ticket window covers.
    • Effectively communicate with other employees and departments, both in person and via telephone/two-way radio
    • Shovel snow in front of ticket office, main lodge entrance adjacent to ticket windows.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Wash, cut, prepare, and cook food items according to standards and procedures set by Food & Beverage Manager.
    • Wash and stock dishes.
    • Clean and stock kitchen area.
    • Clean guest area in the Yurt.
    • Start and maintain wood burning stove.
    • Assist in maintaining dining area cleanliness.
    • Accurately count till at end of shift and close out sale location and secure ticket window covers. 
    • Other duties as assigned.
