All applicants must be able to provide personal transportation to Lemolo Lake KOA in Oregon for the start date.

For the final position(s) for 2021, applicants will need their own RV/housing as all onsite housing is full.

    Support Staff Job Description     

    GENERAL DUTIES

                The Support Staff position is responsible for supporting the owners in the day-to-day preparation, operation and activities of the campground.  To provide superior guest service by responding to the needs & requests of our guests.  This widely varying position requires a self-starter that can see needs in advance through observation of operations and guest interaction.  A willingness to move from widely differing activities quickly and regularly throughout the day. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide operational support for the campgrounds boat rental operation.  Including: Fueling, instructing guests on proper use and safe handling, fitting guests with life jackets (PFD’s) as required by law, enforcing owner’s rules of operation, inspecting and cleaning boats after rental, securing and storing equipment after use all as outlined by your immediate supervisor or owner(s).
    • Split (motorized hydraulic splitter) wrap and stack firewood as needed to maintain adequate inventory for sale at the campground store.
    • Bag and stack bags of ice in freezers as needed to maintain adequate inventory for sale at the campground store. 
    • Provide store cashier and/or registration assistance on an as needed basis.
    • Clean camp sites (tent & RV) & exterior cabin areas daily after guest checkout including proper disposal of ashes from fire pits and thoroughly clean the campsites/cabin exteriors for trash and debris in preparation for next guest arrival. 
    • Clean restroom and shower building daily as outlined by your immediate supervisor or owner(s) using appropriate cleaning chemicals on appropriate items only as trained.
    • Provide support for housekeeping staff on an as needed basis as trained. 
    • Provide excellent and friendly guest service by being attentive, responsive and helpful to all guests needs.  Greet the guests at every opportunity by demonstrating a friendly welcome. 
    • Safely escort each guest to their campsite or cabin lending aid with turning, backing and positioning (especially with over-sized RV's) until they are safely positioned in their assigned site.
    • Present a positive impression with a well-groomed appearance, smiles and proper KOA uniform and name tag.
    • Report all broken or damaged items within all campground buildings, facilities and premises.
    • Report all customer problems, requests or complaints to your supervisor or owner(s) and follow-up to resolve the issue if possible.

    • Ability to operate golf carts and 4-wheel ATV vehicles
    • Bilingual is a plus

    • Ability to work under wet and slippery conditions
    • Basic knowledge of safety procedures including proper handling, storage and usage of fuels, chemicals and chemical properties
    • Must be able to work weekends and holidays     
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Desire to take ownership of their position and contribute to improvements
    • Team player who shows initiative and works well as a member of a small and close-knit staff
    • Ability to live and work for an intense peak-season in a beautiful but remote setting

    Boat Rental Staff Job Description     

    GENERAL DUTIES

    The Boat Rental Staff position’s primary responsibility is the handling of the day-to-day preparation, operation and activities involved with the campground’s boat rental operation.  To provide superior guest service by responding to the needs & requests of the renters of boats and related equipment.  This position requires an organized self-starter that can work autonomously with little supervision once shown proper procedures of operation.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is a must as there is almost continuous interaction with guests and families.  Depending on the day, approximately 60-100% of the position relates to job duties described below. 

    Other duties assigned will relate to campground support responsibilities include: guiding guests to RV or tent sites, cleaning RV sites between guests, housekeeping support, cleaning of RV Park restrooms, emptying trash and recycle containers or other assigned duties as needed.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform all operations associated with the campground’s boat rental operation featuring:

    Motorized Pontoon & Fishing Boats, Kayaks, Pedal Boats, Canoes & Paddle Boards

    • Fueling of motorized boats (if needed) for partial day rentals before the next rental period & refueling all boats at the end of the rental day in preparation for the following morning’s rental period.
    • Cleaning boats after each rental/prior to next rental.  Cleaning varies depending on boat type and can include evacuating water, wiping down seating, steering & walking areas, sweeping and/or disinfecting areas of the boat.
    • Instructing renters on areas to avoid based on equipment rented.
    • Inspecting major components for damage and proper operation after rental is returned. 
    • Instructing guests on proper operation, use and safe handling of both motorized & non-motorized boats and other rental equipment prior to the start of their rental period.
    • Assuring all liability release forms are properly filled out and signed by the user or responsible adult (if user is under 18). 
    • Checking out, tracking & fitting guests with life jackets (PFD’s) as required by law.
    • Checking out & tracking other boat related equipment boat equipment with instruction on proper use (i.e. oars, paddles, anchors, nets, chairs, ladders).
    • Checking in all PFD’s & other checked out equipment at the conclusion of a rental.
    • Cleaning/disinfecting of PFD’s & inspecting them for wear, cleaning other equipment if needed and checking for damage or excessive wear. 
    • Enforcing the owner’s rules of operation as it relates to boats.
    • Guiding/helping guests safely enter/exit boats or other equipment.
    • Provide excellent and friendly guest service by being attentive, responsive and helpful to all guests needs.  Greet the guests at every opportunity by demonstrating a friendly welcome.
