Lake Effect Bar and Grill

Thanks for taking the time to check out our company! We are Lake Effect Bar and Grill, a part of Lake Fanny Hooe Resort and Campground. We are located in Copper Harbor, MI, a town of 100 full time residents that sees thousands of tourists each week every summer coming to explore the Keweenaw. Our summer season operates mid May to mid October.

Lake Effect Bar and Grill is looking to find a lead Breakfast Cook for our 2023 summer season. The applicant should be proficient in cooking traditional breakfast items such as omelets, French toast, pancakes, flipping eggs, egg scrambles, sausage and bacon frying, and baking biscuits. The daily shift for the breakfast position will be from 5:30am to 11:30am 6 days a week. There are opportunities to pick up extra hours working some lunch shifts as well. There also may be an opportunity to work 7 days a week during July and August if the cook would like extra hours. We try to have everyone a day off but there are those individuals who want to make every dollar they can and we try to accommodate them.  

Lake Effect Bar and Grill serves traditional, made-from-scratch breakfast, and boasts the status as the only burger joint in town. Our establishment also serves delicious lunch and dinner favorites and features a full-service bar. We are one of the only establishments to have air conditioning!

Copper Harbor is considered semi-remote as major places of business and medical attention are ~35 miles away(1 hour). There is no cell signal in town although there is WiFi that covers the entire area of Copper Harbor.

Copper Harbor features a community park, a basketball court, and about a mile of nicely paved roads for longboarding and rollerblading. There are several docks to fish from in town, boat launch sites on Lake Superior, Lake Fanny Hooe, and Lake Manganese, and tons of secluded fishing spots in the bush south and east of town. There is a super fun putt-putt course too!  One mile south of town is a disc golf and regular golf course.

Everything is within walking distance in town, but a bike is recommended! If you don't have one, there may be one available to borrow. Copper Harbor has an extensive grocery store that includes allergen-free selections. There is also a post office, a community garden that you are welcome to claim a plot in if available, a coin laundry mat, a gas station, and a brewery.
