Dependent on experience - Starting pay rate: $14.00-$19.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Prepare food consistently and accurately, following established recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.

• Start prep on food items scheduled ahead of time while avoiding overproduction to minimize waste.

• Check daily pars and determine necessary preparation, freezer pulls, and station setup.

• Label and date all food containers; rotate stock according to standard operating procedures to ensure freshness and reduce spoilage.

• Maintain correct storage temperatures and food safety protocols for all perishables.

• Monitor inventory and notify supervisors of low stock or potential shortages.

• Return unused food to designated storage areas properly labeled, covered, and dated.

• Assist in implementing strategies to manage food costs, control waste, and improve overall kitchen efficiency.

• Keep workstations clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout service.

• Collaborate with the culinary team and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and accurate order execution.

• Support banquet and resort events when needed and perform other duties as assigned by the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help with the preparation of vegetables and condiments as needed for the upcoming shift. Additional tasks may be assigned as required.

Nestled along Highway 170, where the road curves to embrace the Rio Grande, Lajitas Golf Resort is located just 17 miles southwest of the junction of Highways 118/170 at Terlingua, Texas. Tucked between the rugged beauty of Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park, our resort offers an unparalleled retreat in one of the most serene corners of Texas.

To give you a sense of our remote charm, we're approximately 200 miles from the nearest Walmart in Fort Stockton and 95 miles from the closest McDonald's or stoplight in Alpine. This seclusion is part of what makes Lajitas so special—no traffic, no city lights—just peaceful surroundings, tranquility, and some of the best stargazing you'll find anywhere.

While a vehicle is not essential for staying at the resort, since our housing is conveniently located near resort amenities, having a car is recommended for trips to Presidio (55 miles southwest) or Alpine (95 miles north) for major shopping or outings.
