This position is full-time year-round ONLY. Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.

The primary purpose of a Human Resources Assistant is to support and facilitate the smooth operation of the HR department. They are responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks and play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of HR processes.

This position assists the Human Resources Director as needed. Daily tasks could include a variety of the following:

  • Address problems related to HR, personnel, timekeeping and payroll matters
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements and specifications
  • Assist with recruiting, including online postings, pre-screening interviews, and onboarding
  • Conduct reference checks, background checks and in house drug screens on potential candidates
  • Answer HR-related questions from employees and managers
  • Assist in determining the HR organizational needs for implementation or upgrade, including training
  • Prepare and maintain HR records, including employee files
  • Provide technical assistance regarding the timekeeping system
  • Assists in the submission of payroll input, including the reconciliation of deductions, earnings, etc., on a bi-weekly basis
  • Assists in the completion of disciplinary investigations, meetings, and documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company
  • Responsible for handling all workers' compensation claims from the first report of injury to full release of restrictions and return to work. This is done with the insurance company, safety manager and OSHA reporting
  • Organize HR-related events, such as company gatherings and holiday parties
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.

Two years HR Generalist experience and two years management experience of a staff of two or more. 

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software.
