  • HVAC/R Technician

    Position Summary

    The HVAC/R Technician is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment including: Refrigeration, Air-conditioning, Air Handlers, HW Heaters, Gas Appliances, Furnaces, Exhaust Fans, Electric Motors, Air Compressors, Ice Machines, etc.. The technician will perform service at our various properties on the Oregon Coast.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Troubleshoot and repair various mechanical systems
    • Order and maintain parts as necessary
    • Maintain service records
    • Processing and completing work orders
    • Plan shutdowns for repair and preventative maintenance
    • Communicate with various stakeholders on equipment issues
    • Manage relationships with various vendors and property management
    • Adhere to all city, state and federal regulatory statues

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Requirements

    • Valid State of Oregon Driver License
    • Clean Driving Record
    • EPA Universal Certification
    • HVAC/R Certification
    • 3 + Years’ experience as a HVAC/R Technician
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills

    WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE

    Provide extraordinary coastal experiences by developing and providing housing resources for regular and seasonal employees via both company owned and leased properties.  Ensure highest levels of property management and employee adherence to housing assistance policies and procedures.

    Team member housing is critically important to the success of teams and our businesses. This position will facilitate safe housing for employees and thereby support our businesses success. This role will be pivotal in creating and maintaining a reputation as a high quality, desirable tenant and partner in the community. Our resources will be well maintained and a positive reflection of our brand. Leased properties will be left in same or better condition after we occupy it. Employee tenants feel safe, heard, and confident that issues will be addressed quickly and with integrity. Employee tenants will be held to our brand standards and will be informed of issues in a timely and professional manner.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Research and provide detailed information on short-term and long-term housing resources and options for regular and seasonal employees, including possible company assisted employee purchase agreements.
    • Utilize strong Internet research skills to locate viable rental options.
    • Incorporate expert negotiation skills to secure short-term and long-term rental leases.
    • Coordinate housing including searching for accommodations, arranging for furniture and housewares and accessing required utilities.
    • Create housing policies that will ensure safety, embody our core values, secure assets and mitigate risk.
    • Review and prepare leases to ensure proper lease terms, penalties, transfer clauses, deposits, and rental payments.
    • Develop processes for ensuring adherence to housing policies, collecting payment and integrating systems for payroll deductions.
    • Ensure that housing processes are compliant with Local, State and Federal laws and guidelines.
    • Develop appropriate housing assistance policies and procedures in accordance with company business objectives and values.
    • Negotiate with external property managers to eliminate or reduce security deposits, lower rent amounts, and eliminate penalties.
    • Forge partnerships with local realtors, property managers and lending agents/mortgage brokers to stay abreast of community market conditions and potential housing options.
    • Develop unique incentives to attract housing partners throughout the communities in which we serve.
    • Perform preventive maintenance as needed and/or arrange for appropriate services.
    • Provide excellent customer service to FOC employees, providers, clients, and vendors.
    • Solve problems and issues, as they arise, related to all employee housing activities.
    • Partner with CFO to ensure property financial transactions are adhered to and aligned with budgets.

    Success in this role will be measured by establishing and growing housing inventory for our teams. Safe and affordable housing will translate to our bottom line by shortened time to hire, increased productivity and easier scheduling. In addition, success will include maintaining housing at the highest level. This includes inventory quantity and quality, safety, proper maintenance, and fiscal responsibility.

    Responsibilities:

    • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
    • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
    • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
    • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
    • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
    • Prepare dishes for breakfast and lunch room service
    • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
    • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
    • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines

    Perform administrative tasks.  Ensure that guest requests and information is documented and passed along to the morning team through a detailed shift report and in person. .  Answer the telephone and make reservations when required.

    Our Talent Acquisition Manager represents the lead conduit of talent into our Family of Companies and ensures the ongoing and future organizational talent demands are met and measured.  This is a key role in our ability to be a magnet for top talent.  In this role, you will partner with hiring teams to deliver all facets of recruiting and onboarding success. The Talent Acquisition Manager devises sourcing and recruiting strategies, processes, and campaigns. They take the lead in finding and screening candidates, as well as, driving the interview process in partnership with hiring managers.

    • Deliver an exceptional experience for candidates expressing interest in joining our team.
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to design and implement new, creative recruiting ideas as well as continue with both traditional and modern sourcing strategies. Our recruiting plans focus on both local, national, and international talent markets.
    • Research and develop strategy to improve recruitment of passive candidates.
    • Target sourcing strategies that enhance our Race, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policy.
    • Participate in regularly connecting with qualified candidates in preparation for future employment opportunities.
    • Provide career coaching to internal employees.
    • Build positive relationships with schools, lead fun and productive job fairs, and enjoy networking at craft beer, culinary, and lodging industry events.
    • Establish recruiting project timelines and ensure that each recruitment is completed within designated timelines. Update and train managers on appropriate use of selection tools, including online applicant tracking.
    • Analyze data on the Recruiting Matrix report and publish those results. Partner with hiring managers to set continuous improvement goals.
    • Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for key positions annually. Assist in hiring talent for summer seasonal positions.
    • Hire and coordinate the process for J1 students, culinary externs, and traveling hospitality specialists.
    • Shepherd candidates and hiring managers through the new hire process. Mind the details and ensure all required forms are completed.
    • Maintain accurate records in HRIS and Payroll systems.
    • Drive talent acquisition opportunities through social media.
    • Develop and drive an effective onboarding process.
    • Partner with colleagues to ensure our Family of Companies is an employer of choice. Other duties as assigned.

    What matters most:

    • Ability to be onsite at each location as well as attend industry functions.
      • Regularly travel between Pacific City, Cannon Beach, Tillamook, and future locations
      • Work career fairs on weekends and evenings
      • Attend college visits, community events, and industry events.
    • High volume recruiting experience (hospitality and craft brewing experience preferred).
    • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
    • Expert level skills and knowledge of applicant tracking software systems.
    • Expert level talent sourcing experience; a proactive recruiter
    • Able to collect and interpret data-based measurements to demonstrate the effectiveness or failure of the recruitment system from position opening to onboarding.
    • Experience in effectively leading change
    • Professional human resources certifications and advanced college experience a plus

    Position Requirements:

    • Experience in recruitment, human resources, or staffing with at least one (1) year in full cycle recruiting, including high-volume recruiting and social media sourcing.
    • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
    • Required Travel 10% (Primarily Local)
    • Must be based in the Pacific City area
    • Full time, Exempt

    • Reports to Head of HR
