Kalaloch Lodge is located approximately 40 minutes southwest of Forks, WA, 3 1/2 hours from Seattle, WA, and 4 hours from Portland, OR.
About Kalaloch Lodge - DNC
There are few locales gifted with such diversity of geography and culture as Olympic National Park. Its western boundary – where Kalaloch Lodge uniquely sits – marks the edge of the contiguous United States, a wind-swept coastal sanctuary teeming with marine life.
Room and Board
We have a limited number of employee housing units available, which are shared and accommodate between 2-4 people. A payroll deduction of $45.00 per week will be made for housing, which includes utilities, wi-fi and laundry.
Housing units come with a full kitchens. Laundry facilities and shift meals are provide free of charge. All associates are eligible for discounts in our Mercantile, gift shop, and restaurant. We offer exercise equipment, movies, books, games, and satellite TV in our employee recreation area.
A rare bounty of marine life awaits right outside your door at Kalaloch Lodge, with gray whales and orcas sharing the water with otters, seven types of salmon, and seals. Local tide pools are filled with sea stars, periwinkles and urchins. Seaweeds such as Sea Palms and Dead Man's Finger, add dimension to the rocky floor, and edible Nori (the wrap commonly used for sushi) sways with the current. Walking the beach, you can look out at the pounding surf and share stories of over 200 shipwrecks that have occurred off the Olympic Coast, as gulls and Bald Eagles wheel overhead and pelicans dive through the break. You may also encounter herds of Roosevelt Elk, deer, Black Bears or the elusive Mountain Lion while on the trail.
Getting Here and Getting Around
Kalaloch Lodge is located in Olympic National Park on Washington's beautiful and rugged west coast. We are approximately 3-1/2 hours from Seattle and 4 hours from Portland.
Local bus transportation connects Kalaloch Lodge with the towns of Forks, Amanda Park, Aberdeen, Port Angeles and Seattle. Bus passes to Forks and the local area are available free of charge for current Kalaloch Associates.
