This job oversees the Front of House operations of the iconic Jordan Pond House, the sole eatery serving the visitors of Acadia National Park. Since 1893, guests to the park have been enjoying delicious tea and fantastically fluffy popovers on the picturesque Jordan Pond House Lawn. Pioneered by Nellie McIntire, the first proprietor of the restaurant, this tradition is certainly one that you don’t want to miss out on. Now serving a wide array of dishes and meals, from fresh lobster to popover ice cream sundaes, this combination of both culinary and scenic delights is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Often referred to as the “Crown Jewel of the North Atlantic Coast,” Acadia National Park is New England’s extraordinary mountain wonderland. With over 4 million visitors each year, the park, with its many attractions and stunningly stoic scenery, is and has been the setting for many unforgettable hikes, bike rides, afternoon picnics, and smiles more than 100 years.

As Restaurant Manager at Jordan Pond House, you will enjoy working with our thoughtful & well respected leadership team, as well as the following:

  • Training a talented, team oriented staff of 70 Restaurant Associates, rotating through a new tip pooling system as they learn various roles from serving, bussing, hosting, beverage creation, food running, and guest services.
  • Assisting our Food & Beverage manager in all things Front of House, including client partnerships, reservations(open table), POS knowledge & training, payroll & labor management, and employee performance management.
  • Having a team of 4 dedicated Restaurant Supervisors, eager to learn from you & support you throughout the season.
  • Leading our restaurant to success! 2024 is set to be a record year in the park. Get some incredible stats under your belt and continue your leadership development with some excellent mentors and dedicated career development programs.
  • Longer than average National Park season, this role is active from March 18th - November 1st.
  • Several employee housing options available to support you in your transition to coastal Maine.
  • Opportunities to transition to other ExplorUS properties nationwide, seasonally through Acadia's off season, or even year-round.
