Getting Here and Getting Around
Mackinac Island is located in the Straits of Mackinac halfway between Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. The Island is serviced by two ferry lines - Sheplers Ferry and Starline Ferry they depart from either Mackinaw City or from the Upper Peninsula side St. Ignace.
Once on the Island, there are no automobiles; we get around on foot, by bicycle or by horse-drawn carriages.
Mackinac Island has plenty to offer for tourists and employees. In your free time, you may want to take a hike or ride on one of the many trails, tour historical Fort Mackinac or take a carriage ride. In addition, the local community posts a list of activities taking place on the island every week. Activities include Music in the Park, Mackinac's Got Talent, Yoga, Pilates, kayaking, running club, painting classes and more. Additionally, if you don't have a car, there is off-island transportation available to explore Cheboygan or Petoskey.
