Seeking housekeeper for a remote wilderness lodge in Oregon--May through October. Come explore the beautiful scenery and enjoy a more natural rhythm of life on our off-grid homestead!

Housekeeping entails flipping rooms, keeping the main lodge area tidy, and following COVID sanitation and safety standards. There are 15 guest rooms and five staff rooms on site.

Our ideal team member is fast, efficient and thorough.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
  • Customer-oriented and friendly
  • Prioritization and time management skills
  • Experience in making beds, cleaning bathrooms, washing windows, dusting, stain removal and laundry products--bonus points for folding fitted sheets, crisp linens, and ecofriendly solutions
  • Knowledge of and ability to run laundry machines and keep up with laundry

When the rooms are clean, there are plenty of other places your contributions are valued and appreciated. We are one big family who enjoys living together and working toward shared goals.

COMPENSATION:

Starting pay is $600.00 a week direct deposited on a biweekly basis plus housing and meals.

Team members live on the property from May through October in staff housing as there are no roads to the lodge, and we rely on a jet boat for freight deliveries and transportation in and out of the property. Each staff member has a private room, a shared bathroom, and meals provided as part of compensation. With room and board included and nowhere to spend money while you're at the lodge, it racks up quickly!

Our workday is long and days off are few, as is common with seasonal lodging positions, but there will be the opportunity for up to two weeks of unpaid time off if coordinated before the start of the season--that way a boat can be scheduled and there are enough hands to keep things running in one's absence.

LODGE CULTURE:

Half Moon Bar Lodge is a beautiful place to live and a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world for a few months. You'll spend lots of time outdoors and learn what it takes to bring the off-grid experience with a luxury twist to all of our guests.

Half Moon Bar Lodge staff are one big semi-functional family. Living and working together cultivates an environment that encourages honesty, accountability, a sense of belonging, and loads of fun. We admit mistakes and call each other out when needed; this is one of our core values, and we find it works well.

On your time off you can enjoy swimming and fishing in the Rogue River, hiking world-class trails, or stargazing with zero light pollution on our airstrip.

Being on the Rogue River, our guests will be floating down the wild and scenic section beginning at Grave Creek (this takes usually two days) before arriving at our dock. Every one of our guests will have a great story and desperately need a hot shower.

LOGISTICS:

We all live on the property from May through October in staff housing. From Gold Beach, OR it’s about an hour drive to Foster Bar where you meet the Half Moon Bar Lodge jet boat, which will take you the rest of the way.

You are responsible for reaching Foster Bar on time for your scheduled jet boat in and will stay through the season with the exception of previously scheduled weeks off or emergencies.
