Overview: Leads and manages the daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments, ensuring superior cleanliness standards, efficient team performance, and exceptional guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is responsible for the overall operational efficiency, quality control, and personnel management within the housekeeping department.
- Lead, mentor, and coach all Housekeeping staff, promoting a high standard of professional conduct and operational excellence.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests and actively resolve complex guest issues promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure all departmental associates follow company policies, procedures, and adhere to applicable state and federal laws.
- Ensure all staff, including self, are on time and prepared for work promptly at the start of every assigned shift.
- Maintain professional behavior in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct, treating all colleagues with courtesy and respect.
Duties
- Manage the daily assignment of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring all spaces are cleaned to the highest lodge/hotel standards.
- Conduct frequent, thorough inspections of cleaned rooms and public areas to maintain quality control standards and ensure guest comfort.
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies, chemicals, and linen, coordinate with the Housekeeping Manager for ordering and budget control.
- Maintain accurate records of room status, cleaning times, and inventory usage.
- Immediately follow up on and report all maintenance problems using the appropriate tracking forms.
- Ensure all staff are trained on and strictly follow chemical use procedures and safety protocols (including bio-hazard clean-up).
- Work collaboratively with the Front Office and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth operational flow and timely room turnovers.
- Act as the primary contact in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager, making sound judgments and anticipating operational issues or guest opportunities.
- Ensure prompt resolution of guest issues related to cleanliness, special requests, and room needs.
- Keep all departmental work areas, offices, and storage areas clean, neat, and organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a high-volume hotel housekeeping department is required.
- Possess strong time management, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and cultures; self-motivated, detail-oriented, and maintains a positive customer service attitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with staff, management, and guests.
- Must be knowledgeable about and able to safely manage cleaning chemicals, techniques, and safety procedures.
- Capability to lift fifty (50) pounds, involving bending, lifting, folding, and stair climbing, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Willingness to work long hours, various shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.

- Hotel Provided: Logo'd shirts, jacket, and name tag.
- Associate Provided: Black pants, black closed-toe, non-slip shoes, black socks.
- Grooming and Maintenance: Associates are responsible for washing, ironing, and maintaining a sharp, clean, and professional appearance upon arrival for every shift.
