The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Mountaineer Bar and Grill located within the breathtaking landscape of Denali National Park. This is a unique opportunity to blend a passion for the hospitality industry with the love of nature and the outdoors.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
  • Inventory Management: Keeping track of monthly inventory, ensuring adequate supplies while minimizing waste and cost. This includes ordering supplies, managing stock levels, and conducting regular inventory audits.
  • Staff Management: Addressing staff issues, including conflict resolution, maintaining a positive work environment, and ensuring staff adherence to restaurant policies and quality standards.
  • Schedule Management: Writing schedules for all restaurant staff, ensuring adequate staffing for all shifts while considering individual availability and labor costs.
  • Customer Service: Ensuring high standards of customer service are maintained. Handling customer complaints and feedback effectively and professionally.
  • Quality Control: Monitoring and maintaining the quality of food and service. Implementing and enforcing health and safety regulations.
  • Staff Training and Development: Training new staff and providing ongoing training and development for existing staff to enhance skills and promote internal growth.
  • Compliance and Regulation: Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to food service operations, including health and safety standards.
  • Facility Maintenance: Overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the restaurant premises, equipment, and facilities to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for both staff and customers.
  • Team Leadership: Leading by example, motivating staff, and fostering a team-oriented, collaborative work environment.


Skills & Experience:

  • 4 years' experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar managerial role
  • Strong leadership, motivational, and people skills
  • Acute financial management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g., supply chain, finance, customer service, etc.)
  • Experience working in a seasonal environment is highly desirable.
