Wild West Paddle Club (WWPC), a non-profit organization focused on providing kayak and river running instruction to youth ages 11to 18, is looking for a Program Director/Instructor.

This position consists of coordinating and presenting beginner to intermediate whitewater kayak instruction to kids, organization of the program including correspondence with participants and parents and logistics of class sessions and excursions.  In addition, the Director will assist Paddle Club volunteers in organizing the annual Wild West River Fest in early August. This entails coordinating volunteers and planning logistics of the festival events.

The ideal applicant should possess the following attributes:

  •     Good organization and communication skills
  •     Experience teaching whitewater kayaking to beginners
  •     Friendly, approachable attitude
  •     Great with kids
  •     Flexible outlook and ability to adapt to a changing, dynamic work environment
  •     Valid driver’s license

Recommended certifications for this position:
    ACA Level III or above Whitewater Kayak Instructor Certification or  equivalent experience
    Wilderness First Responder Certification or First Aid/CPR
    US Safe Sport certification

Compensation is dependent on experience for logistics and planning. Our volunteer instructors receive $20/ hr for instruction time.
