Seasonal Staff Benefits:

Full-Time Year-Round Staff Benefits:

  • Paid time off (unpaid leave may be taken with prior approval):
    • 16 hours at 60 days
    • 40 hours at one-year and begin accruing 2.15 hours/week (56 hours/year)
    • After three-years, accrual increases to 3.69 hours/week (96 hours/year)
  • Health insurance through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Montana, eligible 1st of month following 60 days full-time employment, three options available:
    • Bronze: employer pays 80% of monthly premium plus $50/month contribution to HSA account, employee pays 20% of monthly premium
    • Silver Plan: employer pays 80% of monthly premium, employee pays 20% of monthly premium
    • Gold Plan: employer pays 80% of silver level monthly premium, employee pays balance of monthly premium

  • Produce Manager

    Produce
    $19.00 - $22.00 / hour

    Starting Pay Range:    $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    All Staff

    • Practice outstanding customer service though store knowledge and friendly, outgoing, courteous behavior.
    • Comply with all policies and procedures as specified in the Employee Handbook and department guides.
    • Communicate with coworkers using friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication.
    • Maintain clean and organized workstations, storage areas, and sales floor, in addition to any related customer spaces.
    • Safely and efficiently use any and all store equipment needed to perform duties.
    • Perform all duties, including helping other departments, as assigned by department manager and other store management as needed.
    • Communicate any observed policy or safety violations or security concerns through proper channels.
    • Continually strive to build knowledge and skills, both personally and within the department and store through training and education of self and other team members.
    • Be proficient in all store technology necessary for job (POS System, computer systems, Word and Excel, ordering, etc.).

     

    Front-Line Duties

    • Prepare, package, and label products for sale according to all company safety policies and departmental procedures.
    • Conduct efficient and proper stocking, rotating, facing, and culling of product to prevent shrink and damage while ensuring high quality, visually appealing, and fresh products for customers.
    • Have a good knowledge of the department’s variety of products and their location. Be aware of guests at all times and assist them with their product selections and inquiries in a friendly manner.

     

    Department Manager

    • Coordinate with scheduler/manager on team member schedules to ensure maximum productivity, efficiency, and customer service. This includes continually observing for proper coverage throughout the day/week and ensuring additional help as needed.
    • Prepare for incoming deliveries by consolidating/marking current product, organizing, and cleaning all areas.
    • Check in vendor deliveries. Verify incoming orders against invoices, check for accuracy and quality, and report shortages and claims to ensure proper billing.
    • Resolve guest and team complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner.
    • Plan, organize, direct, and implement all procedures and activities of the department.
    • Maintain sufficient knowledge and ability to teach others all fundamentals of departmental production and policies.
    • Maximize store sales and profits through in-store merchandising to meet store objectives. Plan merchandising programs for increased sales. Assist management with cross-merchandising ideas with other departments.
    • Be aware of weekly ad items, special prices, or other features that apply to the store’s sales program. Communicate any necessary information to front-end staff and Scan Coordinator.
    • Assist in team member evaluations and any disciplinary issues effectively and timely. Maintain consistency between team members when administering these functions.
    • Aid in the development and growth of all department personnel by insuring regular implementation of company training, evaluation, and counseling procedures. 
    • Introduce ideas for new items, marketing, and more efficient methods to improve department and sales.
    • Order product to ensure adequate and accurate supply and to maintain product quality, freshness, and proper variety.

     

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Fluent in written and spoken English
    • Possess a friendly and welcoming attitude
    • Food Safety training (within 30 days of hire)
    • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Demonstrated ability to train others in policies and procedures
    • Able to perform a variety of tasks, often changing from one task to another while remaining calm
    • Ability to perform physical aspects of the job, including lifting items up to 40 pounds to waist height, standing for entire shift, bending, kneeling, and crouching
    • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
    • Represent the Gardiner Market in a courteous and professional manner
    • Minimum age of 18 years old as the Gardiner Market is a state liquor store
    • Demonstrated experience in fast-paced retail environment
    • Willingness to help other departments as needed with a positive attitude

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior retail experience or similar environment to develop customer service skills
    • Two-three years’ experience in retail management
    • Experience working with international staff
    • Experience in a food service industry, including food safety certification
    • Evidence of ability to multitask, while being detail oriented

    • Check out customers in a friendly and accurate manor. This includes ringing up items, collecting accurate payment, giving back correct change, properly bagging items, and ensuring that customers leave with their entire purchase.
    • Conduct efficient and proper stocking, rotating, facing, and culling of product to prevent shrink and damage while ensuring high quality, visually appealing, and fresh products for customers.
    • Have a good knowledge of the department’s variety of products and their location. Be aware of guests at all times and assist them with their product selections and inquiries in a friendly manner.

     

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Fluent in written and spoken English
    • Possess a friendly and welcoming attitude
    • ServSafe Alcohol training (within 30 days of hire)
    • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences
    • Strong attention to detail
