Work starts in May with preparing for the Reno Rodeo, wild mustang trips, and the Round Valley to June Lake  horse drive. After the horse drive and we have the pack station opened up for the season, we commence business as usual with a variety of rides and trips. Work goes into early September with shutting down the pack station and getting everything winterized. 

  • Packer

    $3,000.00 / month + tips

    Finding a true packer can be like finding a needle in the hay stack, if you are a packer we would love to hear from you. We're looking for someone who can expect to work long hours, 6 days a week and sometimes more. Packers are required to care for stock including feeding, watering, shoeing and doctoring as well as cleaning, adjusting, and maintaining equipment and saddles. We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, years of experience with stock, don’t mind solitude, and strong customer service skills. 



  • Back Country Cook

    $2,600.00 / month

    The back country cook will prepare family or buffet style meals for staff and clients, serving up to 15 people at a time. This cook’s kitchen is open air with propane grills. The cook will be responsible for inventorying supplies and communicating grocery orders to management. Cooks prepare meals from a set meal plan. Cooking experience is ideal but not requires, willing to train the right candidate. Also horse and mule experience is ideal but not necessary, although the right person would be comfortable around and riding horses. Cooks must be able to modify dishes to cater to individuals with any specific dietary needs (i.e. diabetic, vegetarian, medical-related food needs, etc.). The cook will be responsible for keeping a clean facility and ensuring that food and food waste is safely stored or disposed of to prevent wildlife encounters. Seasonal position from May- September.

  • Trail Ride Wrangler

    $2,250.00 / month + tips

    Our trail ride wranglers guide a variety of rides from 1 hour, half day and full day. There is an opportunity to go on pack trips and expanding other equine skills in this position. Growing up around horses, a general knowledge and comfort around pack animals and experience guiding rides is desired. General knowledge of the area and surrounding flora and fauna is also desirable but not required, as this all the more improves our guests experience.
