Business Office Manager

Flamingo Adventures, located within The Everglades National Park, is now hiring for Business Office Manager for year round openings!

We operate 2 large campgrounds, Eco Tents, and a full-service Marina. We have a new Lodge and Restaurant to opening soon that will add even more jobs in Food & Beverage and Lodging.

We offer FREE RENT in the summer months! You must work here and be available for full-time hours to live on property. Rent, utilities, and free use of laundry are included with this position. A private dorm room or an RV site with full hook ups (with your own self-contained RV) is included as part of compensation. The candidate must be available to relocate to the Flamingo district of Everglades National Park.

Salary is $47,500 & up!

This position oversees the Accounting and Human Resources functions as well as handles issues such as new hire orientation, benefits administration, and payroll, maintains files and does general accounting duties. This position reports to the General Manager and may be required to supervise other staff positions.


  • Maintain basic knowledge of computer software and internet applications.
  • Maintain resident, business office and personnel files.
  • Perform Human Resources function by conducting new hire orientation and administering benefits.
  • Perform all aspects of employee recruiting to include job requisitions, phone interviews, job fairs, background check submittals, and onboarding documentation.
  • Maintain employee uniforms, parking passes, and name tags.
  • Maintain employee housing room assignments, inspections, check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Ensure that office supplies are maintained, organized, and replenished as needed.
  • Ensure that employees are aware when they have received mail and/or packages.
  • Ensure that payroll is accurately prepared and reported to the corporate office at the time designated.
  • Ensure that accounts payable procedures are processed timely & accurately.
  • Ensure that all proprietary, financial, and resident information is kept confidential.
  • Monitor and record petty cash disbursements and reconcile to replenish.
  • Process/file workers compensation claims.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of the office, it’s records, and restricted information.
  • Understand roll in the safety and Risk Management plans.
  • Participate in the Manager on Duty program.
  • Attend various community events.
  • Attend all required training, in-service, CORE Trainings, and staff meetings.
  • Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward guests and co-workers.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of Guest Services Salaried and Hourly Handbooks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • An Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Hospitality Management, Human Resources, or related field from two-year College or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least two years of related experience in a Hospitality setting.
  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
  • Advanced Excel skills as well as proficiency with internet-based computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate with people clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities at the same time.
  • Proficient with office equipment and programs.
  • Human Resources experience.
  • Accounting/data entry experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.


  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit.  Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise moves in a constantly changing environment. 
  • Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk to work at a computer for extended amounts of time. 
  • Ability to withstand temperatures in indoor environments. 
  • Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
  • Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in fast-paced environment.
  • Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.  


  • Typical office equipment (computers, multi-extension phone system, fax, copiers, scanners, among others).
