Our programs take place in beautiful destinations including Hawaiʻi, California, New Mexico, Maine, North Carolina, and more. Counselors help deliver premium day camp, evening camp, and sleep-away camp experiences for children and teens, with a focus on outdoor adventure, creativity, friendship, confidence, and exceptional care.
As a General Adventure Camp Counselor, you will help lead a wide range of camp activities, games, challenges, creative projects, sports, nature-based experiences, and off-site adventures. You will work closely with the Program Director and other camp staff to create a safe, fun, energetic, and memorable experience for every camper.
This is a hands-on, high-energy role for someone who loves working with kids, enjoys the outdoors, and is excited to be part of a small, committed camp team.
Responsibilities include:
Leading and supporting daily camp activities, games, sports, crafts, and adventure programming
Supervising campers throughout the day, including transitions, meals, activities, and transportation where applicable
Creating a warm, inclusive, and enthusiastic camp environment
Helping campers build friendships, confidence, independence, and a love for the outdoors
Supporting safety procedures, behavior expectations, and camper well-being
Assisting with setup, cleanup, equipment organization, and daily program logistics
Communicating clearly with fellow staff, directors, parents, club/resort teams, and campers
Bringing energy, creativity, patience, and professionalism to every day of camp
Supporting water-based and ocean activities at select locations, including beach supervision, swim checks, and basic ocean safety awareness
Lifeguarding or assisting certified lifeguards during aquatic activities where required, depending on location, role, and certification
Helping campers understand and follow water safety rules, including buddy systems, boundaries, sun protection, hydration, and safe behaviour around pools, beaches, lakes, and ocean environments
Ideal candidates:
Have experience working with children or teens in camps, schools, coaching, childcare, outdoor education, recreation, or similar settings
Are confident leading groups and keeping kids engaged
Enjoy being outdoors and active
Are responsible, reliable, flexible, and calm under pressure
Are strong communicators and positive team members
Can bring a sense of fun, creativity, and leadership to each day
Are comfortable working in premium private club and resort environments
Lifeguard certification, water safety experience, or comfort around ocean, pool, or lake activities is highly valued for some program locations.
Previous camp experience is helpful, but not required. We care most about your attitude, maturity, energy, and ability to create a safe and unforgettable experience for campers.
