Position: Mutuel Clerk

Reports to: Mutuel Supervisor and Moneyroom Manager

Rate: $17.00 Hourly

General Description:

A Mutuel clerk is the person everyone will come in contact with during their visit to an Emerald Downs Satellite facility, so good customer service skills are a must along with good listening skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Count sums of money and make change
• Learn to use a teller terminal (keyboard) and betting terminology
• Balance your moneybox every night (clerks are responsible for all shortages)

• Work most Weekends and Holidays
• Balance tills
• Vocally count money back to customer

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Money handling experience, mathematical skills, customer service skills, ability to interact with a wide variety of guests, ability to work effectively without direct supervision, good commonsense and decision making ability, dependability, integrity, trustworthiness, neat appearance, and the ability to follow directions with attention to detail. References required. Familiarity or willingness to learn betting, racing, and Emerald Downs Racing.

Special Requirements:

• Commissions License
• 18 Years or older

Work Environment, Communication & Physical Abilities:

Works in social entertainment atmosphere. Varies from relaxed to fast paced. Communicate with all staff, customers, supervisors, and location staff with courtesy and respect. Physical abilities include: able to be around smoking, sitting long hours, and continually counting money.

Tools & Equipment:

Teller Mutuel machines, office supplies, and cash register.
