Our location affords the best of all worlds - close to Yellowstone National Park, yet set apart and peacefully away from the big crowds. For generations of families, it has proven a truly special experience that uniquely captures the Western character and unrivaled beauty of America's last, best place.
There are twenty-six crew members during the summer months; we live on the ranch and all are encouraged to take part in activities when schedules allow. The heavy interaction between guests and crew is one of the things that everyone seems to enjoy most about the ranch.
Start Date Range: May 15 - June 5, 2023 | Start of Season: Sunday, June 18, 2023 | End of Season: September 17, 2023
Post Season runs until mid-Oct with limited positions.
We do ask that all crew can stay at least until August 27th.
Our guest weeks are 6-night stays that run from Sunday to Saturday. All crew receives one day off per week during the guest season and weekends off in the pre and post-season. When filling out your application, please be sure to be accurate on the dates you would like to come, and when you would have to leave.
Elkhorn provides room and board in addition to an hourly wage, starting at $13.00+.
We provide internet in each crew cabin, as well as pre-season weekend outings
and monthly crew ranch-sponsored crew parties throughout the season.
No personal pets for any first-year hires.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is outgoing and a self-starter. As choreperson you are asked of many different tasks, from lighting stove fires around the ranch, chopping wood, daily irrigation, assisting in cookouts, baggage and airport runs, in addition to other various daily/weekly ranch chores.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be 21 or older.
This position entails a bit of everything – from answering calls, social media content, assisting in guest services, airport pickups, town errands, tracking store inventory, as well as other office/ranch duties. It’s perfect for those who like variety throughout their week. Must have a valid driver’s license and be 21 or older.
Candidates must be well-organized, meticulous individuals, who work well with others. Duties involve daily cabin cleaning, laundry, nightly turndowns, weekly turnovers of all cabins, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of common areas.
We are looking for responsible and hard-working horsemen/women to join our barn crew. Every morning our wranglers gather our herd of 100 horses from the pastures that we graze. These pastures can be in thickly wooded areas, on hillsides and mountaintop meadows, and gathers can range from less than an hour to more than two depending on where they are at. Our trails vary, but most are in mountainous terrain and they span between 2 - 8 hours. Applicants must be comfortable and confident outside of an arena, as we teach our guests to ride on the trail. To be considered for this position, we do require a video of you tacking up and riding, in addition to filling out an application. Teaching experience and backcountry skills are a plus!

We are looking for outgoing individuals to join our kitchen crew. If you have a culinary background, serving experience, or just love to bake cookies and bread, we have various positions open.
Looking for an individual who is comfortable in the kitchen and highly organized. Doesn't need to be a certified baker, but needs to be creative and enjoy baking and cooking.
Our kid's program is at the heart of our ranch. This role involves caring for our younger guests (6-12), spending your days inspiring a sense of adventure, excitement in the saddle while teaching riding, and promoting a safe and fun environment for growth and independence.
*To be considered for this position, we do require childcare and riding experience, as well as a video of you saddling up and riding, in addition to completing an application.
Our office coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the office, from arranging excursions for guests, managing guest records, booking reservations, as well as other office duties. Bookkeeping experience is a plus! Must have a valid driver’s license and be 21 or older.
This a flex position for a guide who enjoys educating and sharing their love for the outdoors with our guests. If you have fly-fishing experience, our ranch sits on the Gallatin River and we have fishing access to Yellowstone Park. This role will require someone who is willing to jump into whatever is needed for the day, as we are a small ranch and everyone helps each other out when needed. Must have a valid driver’s license and be 21 or older.
