The Maintenance Department Manager directs and coordinates the activities of maintenance employees engaged in the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment. You will also participate in the development of capital projects and business strategies for the hotel that align with our overall brand vision, values, and strategies.
This is a full-time, year-round position.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Fully vaccinated or ability to get fully vaccinated for COVID-19 per CDC guidelines within 14 days of hire

High School Diploma or GED

Possession of/or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire

Possession of/or ability to obtain ATI Pool Technician certification within 30 days of hire
-
Two years’ experience supervising others required

Minimum three years experience with general maintenance techniques, repair work, and groundskeeping

Previous project management experience
-
Demonstrated knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, pool and grounds maintenance

Proficient skills in operating various hand tools and power equipment
-
Demonstrated ability to motivate and train staff
-
Basic computer proficiency including the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite, email, and internet
-
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
-
Ability to professionally and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, guests, and the general public in accordance with brand standards

Ability to tolerate regular exposure to outdoor conditions year-round
-
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
-
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Availability to work an after-hours on-call schedule as assigned

Ability to see, hear, sit, stand, bend, lift, and move continuously during work hours

Frequent lifting of over 50 pounds

Monitors compliance with building safety codes, protocols, health and safety laws, and other regulations, conducts walk-throughs of grounds and buildings to assess the safety, efficiency, and maintenance of structures

Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.

Reviews contracts and negotiates revisions to contractual agreements with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Maintains an accurate, collaborative work plan/action log of all project management that includes development, implementation, execution, project milestones, deliverables, and deadlines

Responsible for training employees in all areas of daily maintenance operations, delegates work assignments and follows up to ensure assignments are finished, resolves all house calls within encouraged time frames

Interacts with guests using our brand voice to guarantee that their experience meets our standards of exceptional service

Leads safety committee - Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented in accordance with safety training. Provides detailed documentation of safety meetings per Washington State DOSH requirements

Takes an active role in the recruitment and selection of qualified candidates

Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures

Communicates performance expectations and provides employees with ongoing feedback

Provides employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential

Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein
