Purgatory Resort has been providing winter fun to our guests since 1965. While ski area operations are our primary business, summer brings mountain biking, hiking, scenic chair rides, music festivals and more. The town of Durango is known for it’s beauty, sense of community, and recreational opportunities.

Here at Purgatory our goal is to give people the Freedom to come and explore the beautiful San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado in whatever way best suits them. That's why we strive to offer affordable, family-friendly experiences that will suit everyone from the casual first time visitor just checking things out for the first time to the hardcore, adrenaline-fueled skier or mountain biker ready to shred whatever comes their way. Our Purpose is to provide excellent products and customer service, and then let our guests choose whatever experience they believe will give them the most Happiness.

Room and Board
Many housing options are available in Durango, Silverton, Bayfield, and everywhere in between. There are several property management companies that can help you search, but newspaper ads, Craigslist, and the Durango Online Garage Sale group on Facebook are also great places to start looking.

Getting Here and Getting Around
The four corners region is beautiful, but it can be hard to get to, so some info to help you get here is below:
- Durango-La Plata County Airport - 15 Miles
- Albuquerque International Sunport - 218 Miles
- Denver International Airport - 361 Miles
Getting around Durango:
- The city runs a bus system
- The entire town is very bike friendly
Purgatory also offers a free shuttle for employees to and from the resort from Durango!
Durango is the gateway to the Four Corners region, one the premier outdoor recreation spots in the United States. From Durango, within one hour's drive, you can be in the middle of the high desert or up on a Mountain Pass at over 10,000 feet. So whatever outdoor activity you are into you can find it here:
