Denali Park Hotel:  We are a somewhat remote, independently run motel style property located near Denali National Park in Healy, Alaska. There are plenty of fun things to see and do right in our area or within a 10 mile radius.  We have grocery and convenient stores within a mile.  Three of the best restaurants in the area also within one to three miles and a coffee shop, too.  Beautiful Otto Lake is just a 1/4 mile down the road where you can fish, swim and picnic.  We also have a blow-up kayak for staff use.  For the golfer, you will be one mile from a course that offers discounts to our staff.  Lots of amazing hiking, river-rafting and a zip-line are just a few other activities available in the area.  

Job Requirements:  We are only looking to hire a team player that is a healthy, fit, mature and responsible experienced general maintenance/groundskeeper.  We need someone that understands we are only a four-month season and the needs and demands come first and foremost.  While we want you to enjoy Alaska and all it has to offer, you are being hired to work and must be willing and able to meet those needs and demands when and as they arise.

You will be required, but not limited, to perform light plumbing, painting, carpentry and other general repairs such as fixing leaking faucets, maintaining vacuum cleaners, hanging signs, reseting tv's, responding to guests needs pertaining to maintenance and repairs in and around the rooms and any/all repairs that may arise.  In addition, you will maintain our property grounds with weed whacking, mowing, trash pick-up, organizing and clean up anywhere needed and other standard groundskeeping.  You will need to be knowledgeable of working with and maintaining power tools.  Applicant must be in top physical shape and able to climb under buildings if necessary to assess leaks or problems that may arise.  Also, healthy and able to climb ladders to maintain the top of roofs and hang large property signs and all other repairs and duties as needed pertaining to general maintenance/groundskeeping that occur at a motel-style property.  You will also be required to be on a flexible, daily schedule.  The more you know and the more knowledge and experience you have and can do the higher your wage and the more hours we can provide.  Your hours will vary based on needs/demands.  Usually you will work between 25 - 35 flexible hours per week.

*Personal Hygiene is a must!  We are a hospitality business selling clean rooms and associating closely with our guests.  It is of utmost importance that all of our staff be clean, neat, bathed, sober and act in a professional, respectable manner at all times.  

Please note:  We are a small privately owned property working very closely with other staff and our guests.  As a maintenance/groundskeeper, you may be called upon at anytime to fix/repair things and deal with guests and power tools, etc.  Therefore, it is important to know that we are not a "Party Place" and we do have staff that are not of drinking age so we practice a zero tolerance to drinking in or around guests and other staff and excessive drinking of any kind.  Drugs are prohibited and grounds for immediate termination.

Room and Board: We pay an above average wage and our staff enjoy private housing at the daily cost of a latte.  Shared bathrooms and kitchen.  Free WiFi.

Our 2023 season runs from May 26th - September 18th. 

*IMPORTANT: We need our staff to arrive a few days early if possible to settle in and get things up and running and depart a few days later to close the property down.  So, plan on arriving on or about May 22nd and departing on or about September 22nd.  

Our staff size is typically between 12-14 people.  We are all about teamwork!  We work hard but have lots of fun and enjoy a beautiful setting surrounded by mountains and moose.
