Death Valley National Park is located in the beautiful, high desert of California approximately 2.5 hours from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Death Valley Lodging Company is looking for professional and energetic applicants that have experience in hotel/resort properties who love national parks as much as we do. The property boasts an 85 room hotel, 2 restaurants, 2 retail gift stores, and plenty of stunning sand dunes and towering mountains.

Summary of Position

Responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the resorts continuing effort to deliver outstanding service

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards
  • Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all time
  • Assist F&B in the preparation of all items for all outlets
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Be able to be obtain ServSafe or California Food Handler Certification in accordance with Food & Beverage policy
  • Comply with time and attendance policies and be available to work on a regular basis
  • Understand DVLC’s ISO management systems, policies, goals, and initiatives and meet the specific responsibilities within these areas
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Knowledge of food preparation and storage, sanitation requirements and commercial kitchen equipment
  • Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, holiday shifts
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities
  • Majority of shift will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment, in close proximity to other people
  • Must have, or obtain, ServSafe or California Food Handler certification

Knowledge and Experience

Education:       High School Diploma or equivalent required
                        Culinary Training or College degree preferred

Experience:     Minimum 1 (one) year food preparation experience
                        National Park/Resort experience preferred
