About Crossed Sabres Ranch
The Ranch, constructed in 1898 by Aron “Tex” Holm, was used as a home base to carry tourists from Cody on camping expeditions into Yellowstone. Today, we continue that tradition of being a direct access point to the wonders of Yellowstone, as a family-based dude ranch that creates the vacation of a lifetime for guests of all ages. A large part of that success comes from you, the staff. From early in the morning to late in the evening, our amazing staff are a hallmark feature of the experience guests have. It's about knowing them by name and greeting them in the morning; jumping in to play a round of corn-hole with a family; conversing with guests about their adventures of the day while sitting around the campfire. You'll get the chance to work, live, and play on one of the oldest ranches in Wyoming and in one of the most beautiful areas of the country, just eight miles from the nation's first national park. You'll make life-long connections with the people you meet and work with, and become a part of the Crossed Sabres Family. Come enjoy the summer of a lifetime, and help provide others the vacation of a lifetime.

Getting Here and Getting Around
The ranch is located in the heart of the Shoshone National forest. We are 40 miles from outside of Cody WY, and 8 miles from the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park on the North Fork Highway. The nearest airport is in Cody, WY which we can arrange to pick you up from upon your arrival for the summer!
Having a car is certainly helpful if you want to venture out on your days off, but not a requirement. Staff always band together to carpool when needed for trips into town or adventures out into the area.
If your idea of fun is lounging about and streaming Netflix all day, this will not be the right place for you. But, there are millions (literally) of acres of national forest land to get out and explore. There is a rodeo to go see. There is a river to tube down and fish. There are trails to ride. There are nearby towns to get out and visit. There are friends to make, and engage with without the distraction of cell phones. There are views to sit and enjoy at sunset. There are countless opportunities to live in and enjoy the moments of your summer.
