Our Jobs

We have senders and receivers on every tour and you stay with groups throughout the whole course. Senders are responsible for hooking up each participant correctly and sending them down the line. Receivers catch each participant as they come to the end of the zipline using our ZIPKEA and AUTOPRUSIK braking system. We also staff UTV drivers who are responsible for the transportation of participants up and down the Mountain as well as Maintaining our Fleet of side-by-sides.

Once at work, you engage with customers in a friendly and encouraging manner. You also help them with their safety harness, helmet, and other gear before safely taking them through our 2 to 2.5-hour zipline course while sharing knowledge about the Smoky Mountains. You help them overcome challenges. You encourage them and probably tell some corny jokes. You are sincere and genuine in conversation. Once the tour is over and everyone gives sweaty good-bye hugs to each other, repeat the process.

Our busiest time is the summer months.  We can guarantee a regular amount of hours until approximately mid-August.  After that, it will be based on reservations. This is a perfect fit for college students looking for a summer job as our slow periods usually start around the same time school starts back up.

CLIMB Works is also affiliated with a few other adventure-themed businesses here in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. Although CLIMB Works is closed every Sunday throughout the year, employees will also be responsible for helping staff both at Paula Deen's Lumberjack Feud and Anakeesta as necessary.

  • Sender

    Tour Guide
    Gatlinburg
    $10.00 / hour + tips

As a sender, you are responsible for the hooking up of participants to the zip line. You will learn every participant's name that is on your tour and engage in conversation with them from the start to the finish of the tour. You will also be responsible for taking photographs throughout each tour so that your guest will have memories to take home with them after they leave.

The sender's job is a little less physically demanding than a receiver's, but is just as critical when it comes to SAFETY, as well as communicating with your tour. You will be instructing each tour with educational tidbits about both the history of the Smoky Mountains and the natural surroundings.

Before the tour starts, both senders and receivers are responsible for the inspection of equipment being used for their tour, i.e. harnesses, helmets, trolleys, handlebars, etc. Throughout the busy months of summer guides may be asked to do other tasks throughout the work day to help the day go by a little smoother.

Their is no prior experience necessary to apply for this position. We will train you to CLIMB Works standards and make sure you you are 110% comfortable with all tasks before allowing you on course or in a vehicle with participants.

  • Receiver

    Tour Guide
    Gatlinburg
    $11.00 / hour + tips

Our Guides are the bread and butter of our company. Receiver's primary job is to catch participants at the end of each line using our patented braking systems known as "ZIPKEA and AUTOPRUSIK". Receivers are responsible for maintaining tour times and making sure tours are going up and brought down in a SAFE and TIMELY manner.

Although your main priority as a receiver is to catch each individual guest at the end of each line, you are also responsible for leading the tours, communicating with your tour, and will be instructing each tour with educational tidbits about both the history of the Smoky Mountains and the natural surroundings.

SAFETY is the #1 priority in everything that we do at CLIMB Works.

A receivers job is more physically demanding than that of a sender. As a receiver, there are instances throughout each day that might require you to do what we call a "retrieval". To do a retrieval you will hook yourself up to the line, ride out to the stuck individual, and muscle them back in to the landing platform.

Their is no prior experience necessary to apply for this position. We will train you to CLIMB Works standards and make sure you you are 110% comfortable with all tasks before allowing you on course or in a vehicle with participants.

  • Driver

    Transportation
    Gatlinburg
    $10.00 / hour

As a driver you will be responsible for the transportation of participants to and from both our Mountain Top and Tree Top courses. Drivers are also responsible for fueling, cleaning, and routine maintenance of our fleet of side by side UTV's.

Although a driver with a mechanical mindset would be an awesome attribute, you do not need prior experience turning wrenches or working on UTV's to apply for this position. We can train you to do simple maintenance such as changing oil, replacing axles, changing tires, swapping break pads, etc. All of the major mechanic work is completed through factory warranties at a certified shop.
