The Employee Experience
If you have a servant's heart and truly care about the happiness of others, Cherokee Park Ranch will be a perfect fit for you. Making a difference in the lives of grandparents, parents, singles, and children who possibly have never been off of pavement or it's been a while is what makes your summer at Cherokee Park Ranch one that you will not forget easily. Being a team player and working together to make every guest feel like their needs are your top priority is what sets us apart from your typical summer job. It is the hardest work that you will ever love!
Be willing to step outside your comfort zone and DO something atypical of a normal summer job. Come together with 22 other staff members from all over the country with one common goal in mind; to have families make memories that will last a lifetime. And in doing so, YOU will find that there is definitely the magic of immense satisfaction when you make others happy!
Room and Board
All of our staff are housed free of charge. You may have one roommate, or 4 depending on the gender ratio. We feed our staff the exact same food that we feed our guests.
Our staff are the MOST important people on our ranch. Without them, we could not survive. As such, we treat them with the highest regard.
I think the hardest part of working at Cherokee Park Ranch is the 8 steps to the bathhouse. Not your typical dorm setting...but definitely feels like a camping adventure!
Salary + Tips + Room/Board + Eat the same meals as guests + Laundry professionally cleaned +Live in paradise + Work with incredible people + Ride horses on your day off + So much more!
Staff experience all of the same activities as our guests from the hayrides, square dancing, fishing, hiking, swimming, etc. We all participate in the activities together as a staff, guests, and owners.
Getting Here and Getting Around
A lot of staff do drive to us in their personal vehicles.
Should you decide to fly, all of our staff and guests fly into the Denver International Airport. There is an hourly shuttle that picks up right outside the baggage claim and brings them to the Hilton Hotel in Ft. Collins, CO. Once hired, we give you all of the details for either driving or flying to us.
All staff is housed on the property...just steps from work. There is no public transportation available in our remote area. It is 42 miles to Ft. Collins, CO and 32 miles to Laramie, WY.
For those who choose to fly, you can always catch a ride with another staff member who does have wheels.
With flexible hours of working, you will be able to hike up to some gorgeous vistas, fish the Northfork of the Cache La Poudre River that runs directly through our property. At night you'll view stars and the Milkyway that you never knew existed. When you get away from the city lights, the night lights are breath-taking. Since we are nested in the mountains at 7200 feet, it is always cool in the mornings and evenings with NO humidity! It feels like a Spring or Fall day all summer long. The largest outdoor rodeo in the world (Cheyenne Frontier Days) happens every July in Cheyenne, WY. It is a MUST SEE.
