  • Sous Chef

At Camps Equinunk and Blue Ridge we value hard work and dedication while also having the time of your lives! We have many staff members who return to us year after year as they can't imagine life without their second home. And we are always looking for new people to bring into our camp family! 

    We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our food service team for the Summer of 2022 (mid June through mid August). You will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef to produce nutritious, well-prepared meals from conception to execution. Our Chefs and food service team are responsible for feeding 500+ people, three times a day.

    Qualifications/Skills:

    • experience cooking in an institutional or high volume food service setting 
    • knowledge of standards of food preparation and serving, storage of food, and kitchen procedures
    • ServSafe certified - highly desirable
    • possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills
    • culinary degree a plus
    • willingness to support and/or lead student staff
    • must be competent in supporting the Head Chef to cook 3 meals a day for 500+ people
    • knowledge of current health and safety laws and practices is essential
    • knowledge of and experience in the preparation of special dietary foods including vegetarian foods
    • ability to stand for long periods and lift or carry up to 40lbs

     

    Cooks have a designated relationship with their supervisors: Directors, Food Service Director, and Operations Director.

  • Creative Arts Assistant

    We are looking for individuals with skills in any of the following areas to join or amazing team!

    Ceramics, painting, drawing, tie dye, culinary arts, pottery wheels, light wood-working, model rocketry, digital photography, media (video and radio), jewelry-making, astronomy, stained glass, cartooning, scrapbooking.

    Specialist Responsibilities:  

    • Specialists instruct campers of all ages in their specified areas
    • Required to be able to adapt to different age groups and abilities
    • Will open your activity area, set up for each period and clean up at the end of each day
    • Work with your supervisor and team members to ensure all items are in stock

     

    When not assigned to your specialized area, you will be assigned to a specific age group and bunk to join up with evening activities, meals, socials and event days.

    Counselors Responsibilities:

    • Our counselors are expected to be actively engaged with the campers
    • Counselors spend the majority of their time with our children and play a crucial factor in their health, safety, well-being, and enjoyment while in camp
    • Help with morning routine, mealtimes and evening routine with your co-counselors 

    Overall Qualifications:

    • Experience working with children, camping experience encouraged, but not required
    • Individuals who are patient, dedicated and hard working
    • Playful and willingness to participate

  • Housekeeping Supervisor

    We are seeking an energetic, and experienced professional to oversee the Housekeeping and Laundry department during our summer season, including towel service, camper & staff laundry, personnel supervision, customer service, inventory of supplies and record keeping. 

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Assigning housekeeping tasks to staff and overseeing the work to ensure that the set standards of cleanliness are met
    • Understand how the machines operate; including washing times, drying times, and detergents and other supplies needed. Also noting any repairs or maintenance that may be needed
    • Efficiently manage pick up, cleaning and delivery for towels, staff and camper laundry according to schedule
    • Scheduling and managing multiple staff shifts
    • Regularly taking inventory of cleaning supplies and reporting when stock is needed
    • Overseeing an international team of 15 people

     

    Qualifications and Skills: 

    • Minimum of 1 years experience as a Supervisor in an institutional or housekeeping or laundry setting
    • Excels in offering great customer service
    • Confidence managing a large team of 15+
    • Knowledge of standards of cleaning procedures and all related equipment and supplies
    • Mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing, bending and walking for long periods of time

    Calling all RNs!

    Are you an RN or NP who enjoys working with children, we would love to talk to you! Would you like to spend your summer at a beautiful residential camp located in the Pocono’s? If so, we would love to hear from you. Dates: June 20th to August 14th (or 4 week sessions if preferred) Two modern infirmaries, a full time physician in residence. 

    This Job Is Ideal for Someone Who Is:

    Dates of Employment - June 12th - August 13th 2022.

    Climbing counselors are an integral part of the adventure team whose primary role is to monitor the health and safety of our campers and counselors in and around our high ropes and climbing wall facilities.

    Key responsibilities for this position include:

    · Supervising campers [ages 7 to 15] and staff during adventure sessions.

    · Ensuring the safety of everyone in the climbing zones.

    · Providing climbing instruction for campers

    · Actively participating in all adventure activities

    · Maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of adventure facilities

    Additional Responsibilities:

    · When not on Climbing duty. Adventure counselors will serve as bunk counselors.

    Attributes, Experience and Skills:

    · Ideally a certified climbing instructor

    · At least 2 years of Climbing experience.

    · Experience working with children

    · Minimum of eighteen (18) years of age

    · Must be a strong climber

    · Ability to react quickly in emergency situations

    · Prior experience teaching climbing lessons (preferred but not required)

    Dates of Employment - June 12th - August 13th 2022.

    Lifeguards are an integral part of the Waterfront team whose primary role is to monitor the health and safety of our campers and counselors in and around our lakes and pools.

    Key responsibilities for this position include:

    · Supervising campers [ages 7 to 15] and staff during open swim periods

    · Ensuring the safety of everyone in the pool and lake areas

    · Providing swim instruction for campers

    · Actively participating in all aquatics activities

    · Maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of waterfront facilities

    Additional Responsibilities:

    · When not on waterfront duty. Lifeguards will serve as bunk counselors.

    Attributes, Experience and Skills:

    · Ideally an ARC certification for Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED & Waterfront Skills

    · At least 1-2 years of lifeguarding experience.

    · Experience working with children

    · Minimum of eighteen (18) years of age

    · Must be a strong swimmer

    · Ability to react quickly in emergency situations

    · Prior experience teaching swim lessons (preferred but not required)

    · Previous competitive or organized swimming experience (preferred but not required)
