We are currently Hiring for Overnight camp Program Specialists to join us for our summer 2023 season!

 Specialty programs include Arts and Crafts, Camp crafts, Nature, Rocks and Ropes, and weavery

What we offer:

Room and board

Competitive pay $85-$100/day ($510-$600/week)

Comprehensive 10-day training

Juneteenth is observed paid holiday.

4- hour extended time off each week

Schedule:

June 12th to August 20

Sunday to Friday

Founded in 1910, our comprehensive program starts with early intervention at the elementary level, bridges the learning gap for middle school, and helps students thrive and plan for bright futures during high school. During the school year, Camp Fire works in partnership with dozens of schools in the Metro Area. During the summer months, we offer summer camps in the Portland metro area and at our beautiful 552-acre camp, Camp Namanu, bordered by the vibrant Sandy River and presided over by century-old trees. Our programs directly serve over 4,000 kids ages 5-18 each year across a nine-county area, including programming in Clackamas, Multnomah, Yamhill and the greater Portland metro region. Position Overview:

This position is responsible for developing, organizing, and delivering an arts and crafts program that is appropriate for the age and ability of the campers. In addition to setting up program space and training staff on expectations while in program space.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. This role will come in contact with campers, families, visitors, vendors and employees. Each of these persons may have visible and invisible qualities that makes that person unique. This includes race, gender, age, sexuality, ability, religion, national origin, gender identity, and other identities. This role requires sustaining an inclusive and equitable learning and working environments by having respectful and considerate behavior, thoughtful and constructive speech to all.
  2. Delivers Program activities that follow safety protocols, meet camp outcomes, and support the abilities on the campers. Activities include but not limited to tie dye, candle-making, and other artistic skill development. 
  3.  Assists in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in the program area including supply inventory and requisitions. 
  4. Live in assigned unit and provide additional support to unit staff and campers as needed. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Prior to June 2023, must be able to obtain a valid Oregon Food Handler’s card, First Aid & CPR certification and complete the Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse online training module. Additional training for specific roles may be required please review full position description on our website.
