  • Cabin Counselor and Activity Specialist

    Bartow

    Spend a summer in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia making new friends and having a positive impact! Serve as a cabin counselor at children's summer camp for children ages 6-16. Live in a cabin with another staff member and children, providing leadership and direct supervision of campers, while spending your days assisting or leading a variety of summer camp activities. A great leadership experience and resume builder. Lead, learn, and live this summer at Camp Hidden Meadows.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Providing a positive role model and excellent leadership for youth.
    • Directly supervising a group of 8-14 campers along with another staff member.
    • Enthusiastic involvement in a variety of summer camp activities including morning and afternoon workshop instruction, cabin activity leadership, large group activity leadership, and campfire programs.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous camp, youth group, after school, or other youth leadership program experience desired.
    • Positive attitude, a spirit of adventure and a desire to impact each camper in a positive way. Sincerity, enthusiasm, sound judgment, constructive communication skills, and a good sense of humor are all things that we value in staff.
    • Each counselor should be comfortable in teaching or assisting one or more of the following activity areas: archery, arts, crafts, culinary arts, dance, drama, music, environmental education, photography/GoPro video editing, canoe/kayak/paddleboard/sailing, model rockets, music, outdoor living skills, pottery/kiln operation, mountain biking, mountain boarding, soccer, swimming ,woodworking, backpacking, rock climbing, and/or ropes course.

    Salary/Benefits:

  • Equestrian instructors

Assist with other camp program activities with enthusiastic staff and campers from around the globe. Lead, learn, and live this summer at Camp Hidden Meadows!

    Qualifications:

    Experienced Equestrian instructor for summer children's camp. We are looking for staff with a positive attitude, a spirit of adventure and a desire to impact each camper in a positive way. Sincerity, enthusiasm, sound judgment, constructive communication skills, and a good sense of humor are all things that we value in staff.

  • Climbing Instructor

    Bartow

    Spend a summer in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia. Gain leadership experience in a fantastic location surrounded by world-class rock climbing opportunities. We are seeking a qualified individual to lead our summer rock climbing program.  We facilitate top rope climbing experiences for small groups at Seneca Rocks and other nearby climbing areas.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Setting up, belaying, and supervising top rope climbing sites on camp property and off site at Seneca Rocks and other locations.
    • Supervising groups of youth on off-site trips.
    • Driving camp vehicles (including 15 passenger vans) with equipment trailers to and from climbing locations.
    • Maintenance, daily inspection, and logging of rock climbing hardware, ropes, helmets, harnesses, and other equipment.
    • Supervise and assist with staff training in belay certification and other skills training sessions.
    • Utilize adventure programming as a method for teaching life skills, goal setting, team building, challenge by choice, and personal development.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 1-2 years with top rope outdoor climbing sites.
    • Resume showing personal and professional rock climbing and/or ropes course experience.
    • Positive attitude and desire to impact people in skill and personal development.
    • Must be 21 years or older with a clean driving record and valid US Driver’s license.

  • Lifeguards

    Bartow

    Spend a summer in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia making new friends and having a positive impact! Lifeguard at our heated swimming pool, pond with waterslide, and waterfront.  Assist with other camp program activities with enthusiastic staff and campers from around the globe. Lead, learn, and live this summer at Camp Hidden Meadows!

    Qualifications:

    Certified Lifeguard. Certification must be current and through a nationally recognized certifying body such as American Red Cross or equivalent.

    18 years or older.

    We are looking for staff with a positive attitude, a spirit of adventure and a desire to impact each camper in a positive way.  Sincerity, enthusiasm, sound judgment, constructive communication skills, and a good sense of humor are all things that we value in staff.

  • Bike Mechanic

    Bartow

    Spend a summer in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia. Make a positive difference in the lives of campers from around the globe by managing and equipping our mountain bike programs.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Instructing mountain bike workshops for campers 9 -16 on a daily basis.
    • Providing intermediate bike maintenance for our fleet of mountain bikes.
    • Safely supervising and guiding bike trips on single-track, rail trails, and dirt roads for groups of campers.
    • Safely supervising and instructing at our mountain bike skills park on site.

    Qualifications:  We are looking for staff with a positive attitude, a spirit of adventure and a desire to impact each camper in a positive way.  Sincerity, enthusiasm, sound judgment, constructive communication and a good sense of humor are all qualities that we value in staff.  Additional qualifications for this position include:

    • Well developed leadership and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Desire to work with and instruct youth aged 6-16, as well as to serve as a positive role model for youth.
    • Experience with mountain bike mechanics.
    • Basic first aid certification required.
    • Age 21+ and valid US driver's license preferred.
    • Interest in working hard, learning new skills, and taking on new challenges.

  • Camp Nurse

    Bartow

    Located in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, we are looking for a nurse to join our health care team from June 1, 2021 - August 15, 2021. Opportunities for full or partial summer staffing.

    Applicants should have great energy, willingness to work with both the health care center team and the camp as a whole, have good communication skills and be warm and caring.

    Private room with a shared bathroom in our Health Center. Meals and laundry service also provided.

    Duties include but are not limited to caring for sick and injured staff and campers, dispensing meds to campers and staff, maintaining health logs, scheduling doctor appointments and transportation of campers to those appointments, communication with parents, pre-camp screening of staff and campers, first aid kit management.
