Overview:
We are seeking and enthusiastic individual to oversee safety and swimming activities at
our pool. This includes planning and implementation of all swim activities for all age

• Planning and implementation of the Swimming program for all age groups during
cabin activities and elective periods. Develop a recreational swimming program that
stresses safety and fun for campers and staff.
• Orientation and education of Staff and Campers to Swimming/Pool area equipment,
procedures, rules and availability.
• Orientation of all individuals at the pool on area rules including: swimming, diving,
out of pool area, free swim, games, use of equipment, waterslide, warning signals,
and other procedures.
• Communication with Health Center regarding campers with special physical needs
or problems, with regards to your area and observance of those needs.
• Preparation and maintenance of Pool areas - Physically and programmatically.
• Assist in cleaning the pool daily.
• Maintain record of camper's progress.
• Allow the campers the opportunity to develop new skills and talents.
• The requisitioning of needed supplies and equipment, as well as maintenance and
inventory of all equipment and supplies.
• When done implementing pool programming and maintaining area, should be with
assigned cabin.
• Evaluate in writing, the Swimming Program, Camp Program, Staff, and
Procedures.
• Abide by and enforce all camp policies.

• Previous experience in water safety and swimming instruction, comparable to
conditions present at Camp Stein.
• Must possess Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent.

• Ability to have open communication with director supervisors about issues that may

We are seeking and enthusiastic individual to oversee and run our Outdoor Adventure program. This includes our Zipline, Rock Wall and Low Ropes Course also referred to at camp as “Rocks and Ropes”. This includes planning and implementation of all rocks and ropes activities for all age groups during cabin hours, and elective periods.

This may include but is not limited to: organizing and directing a camp play each session, leading activities about set design, costuming, improv, stage crew, etc.

Responsible to:

Position Responsibilities:
- To have primary responsibility for campers and their care.
- To plan and assist in planning activities for the cabin and unit where necessary, including evening programs, special programs, camp outs, and cabin time.
- In conjunction with Co-Counselor(s), be responsible for recording and keeping reports on campers as assigned.
- To maintain involvement in camp programs including: planning facilitating, set-up, clean-up, and preparation of materials.
- To supervise sending and receiving camper mail and laundry.
- The requisitioning of needed supplies and equipment, as well as, maintaining and returning any camp equipment used.
- To take special care in guidance and supervision of campers during "down times"-early morning, rest hour, bedtime, etc. Campers should never be left without supervision.
- Maintain a healthy working relationship with Co-Counselor. Communicate problems or issues with Unit Head. Make sure that all available counselors are present with the cabin group.
- To write letters to campers' parents midway through each session, and to have the letters reviewed by your designated Unit Head. The letters should contain both an update and evaluation of the campers.
- To evaluate in writing the program, staff, and procedures, making suggestions and recommendations for the future.
- To abide by and enforce all camp policies.
- To sit Shmira (OD) as assigned (supervise cabins at night).

Responsible to:

Position Responsibilities:
- Review all camper files prior to the summer. Work will the full-time team to coordinate any pre-camp phone calls as necessary.
- Review files again prior to the camper’s arrival at camp and review with their unit head and counselors.
- Work with Unit Heads and counselor staff to design modifications as necessary, to ensure that camp programs and activities can accommodate all campers in an inclusive environment.
- Provide support for unit heads with discipline issues, moments of sadness, social challenges, and adjustment issues.
- Provide support for campers and staff with MESSH (Mental, Emotional, Social and Spiritual Health) needs.
- Assist counselor staff with the special needs of their campers and support them to solve problems. Be available to help them resolve issues concerning campers, staff, or administration members.
- Communicate camper issues to the Leadership team.
- Maintain parent contact before, during and after camp regarding preparation for the summer, feedback during the summer, and follow up at the end of the summer.
- Observe and interact with campers who have special needs during the camp program to maintain a level of familiarity with each one.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and record and maintain ongoing written accountability regarding information gathered, anecdotal notes, scheduling, and programming, outside contacts, responsibilities, and follow ups.
- Review the daily “Goldenrods” (our camper daily check ins that the counselors fill out) as they are submitted. Participate in the Goldenrod meeting every morning to discuss any camper and staff issues and divide follow-up responsibilities.
- Create and implement behavior contracts for specific campers that may benefit from this method, as needed.
- Model and advocate acceptance and understanding for all campers and staff.
- Be involved with the camp crisis management plan and maintaining joint responsibility for the health and safety of the camp. Consult with the Director or Assistant Director, and Camp Stein’s consultant at the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC) or Gesher about campers with special needs when necessary.
- Participate in all Administration staff duties at camp such as helping to make announcements, general oversight of entire camp during all-camp programing, etc…
- Attend and participate in administrative meetings as scheduled. Discuss and advocate for campers and staff when necessary and appropriate.
- Meet with counselor staff on individual and group level on regularly scheduled basis.
- Occasionally help sitting “on duty” in cabins, as necessary.
- Abide by and enforce all camp policies.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or similar.
- At least three years professional experience in mental health, social work or a similar/related field.
- Experience with or understanding of residential Summer Camp preferred.

A summer of fun, a lifetime of memories!
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to take and manage camp photos, videos and outward communication. We are looking for someone with experience working with photography and videography.
Skill Set:

Position Responsibilities:
- Orient with videography and photography area, equipment and duties
- Take video/photo footage of all major camp activities. Also rotate through different groups and document a few cabin activities and electives throughout the day.
- Upload a specified amount of photos (determined by the Camp Director) each day to the website.
- Help develop ideas and content for Facebook/Instagram posts, Blog and websit for parents and family members to see.
- Write, print, and distribute the “Stein Times” each day, except for on Shabbat.
- Develop and present an end of the session slide show at the end of each 2 week session and the end of the month long sessions.
- Create a slide show/video for the camp reunion after camp in December
- Requisition needed supplies and equipment, as well as, maintenance and inventory of all equipment and supplies.
- When done with media responsibilities, should be with assigned cabin.
- Evaluate in writing, the Media program, Camp Program, Staff, and Procedures.
- Abide by and enforce all camp policies
