Waterfront/Lifeguard/Boat Driver
Boat Driver Responsibilities include:
Waterfront Director
The Waterfront Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the camp’s waterfront activities, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of campers while fostering a positive, inclusive, and exciting environment. The director will oversee swim lessons, boating, water sports, and other waterfront programs, and lead a team of staff to provide a safe and enriching experience for all campers.
Responsibilities:
• Waterfront Program Management: Develop and oversee the daily schedule of waterfront activities, including swim lessons, boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, etc. Ensure that all activities are age-appropriate, safe, and fun, fostering confidence and skill-building in campers. Lead special waterfront events.
• Staff Supervision and Training: Manage a team of waterfront staff, including lifeguards and activity specialists. Ensure all staff are following safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and waterfront activity facilitation. Promote teamwork, enthusiasm, and professionalism among waterfront staff, setting a positive example.
• Safety and Risk Management: Maintain a strong focus on camper safety and adhere to all local, state, and camp safety regulations and protocols. Supervise swim tests, ensuring campers are assessed and placed in appropriate swim groups. Ensure all waterfront equipment (boats, life vests, kayaks, etc.) is properly maintained and meets safety standards.
Riding Instructor
• Teach English riding lessons to campers of all skill levels in a safe and encouraging environment.
• Provide instruction on horse care, including grooming, tacking, and stable management.
• Assist with daily barn chores and ensure the well-being of our horses.
• Lead trail rides and oversee activities in our outdoor arenas, walking ring, and grazing paddock.
• Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes confidence and skill development.
• Serve as a role model, demonstrating responsibility, patience, and a passion for horsemanship.
Nurse
• Administer daily medications and provide routine medical care to campers and staff.
• Triage and treat minor injuries and illnesses in the health center.
• Maintain automated medical records for all campers.
• Prepare and distribute first aid kits for out-of-camp trips.
• Accompany campers to offsite emergency appointments and hospital visits as needed.
• Communicate with parents regarding medical concerns in a professional and reassuring manner.
