Forests, Tides & Treasures serves our locals & visitors in Seward, AK year-round. We are located right in the Harbor with front-row seats to all that Resurrection Bay has to offer. Our store offers a unique assortment of outdoor gear & apparel, handmade Alaskan goods, gifts & other unique treasures.
Seward is a quaint Alaskan town nestled between the rugged mountains, sparkling Resurrection Bay, and Kenai Fjords National Park. There is fantastic hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, whale-watching, glacier viewing and so much more to do right from our doorstep.
About Forests Tides & Treasures
At Forests, Tides & Treasures (FTT), we provide a unique selection of outdoor gear, apparel, art, Alaskan artisans, gifts, souvenirs, and more, year-round in the beautiful remote town of Seward, Alaska. We opened our pet-friendly brick-and-mortar store in the fall of 2017 and have developed a thriving online store and social media presence by focusing on creating an experience of discovery that forges connections between our customers and the artisans & vendors we carry. These connections are reflections of all that we have grown to love and treasure while living here in Seward and Alaska. We are very connected to our community working with different local non-profits and supporting a wide variety of initiatives close to our hearts. We love what we do, and we love living in the community we have the fortune to serve.
The Employee Experience
Seward is nestled between Resurrection Bay and the Kenai Mountain Range, and is one of the most beautiful places that you will have the opportunity to live in! It offers a variety of opportunities, both in the water and on land, such as boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking, camping, dog-mushing, flightseeing, and whale watching -- you name it, it is here.
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking happy, fun loving, experienced retail minded people who want to experience Alaska first-hand while also engaging our Guest, creating memorable experiences for them on a daily basis by nurturing the connections between them and the multitude of creative Vendors, Artist and Artisans that we work with in our shop.
Room and Board
Housing is available. We have comfortable, furnished, 3-bedroom apartments available with a shared kitchen, living room, dining area, bathroom, and Wi-Fi. Each employee has their own room. We provide linens, towels, etc. The kitchen has all the utensils and appliances needed to prepare and enjoy daily meals. Laundry facilities are available within each apartment building. The store is less than ½ mile walking distance from the apartments. The grocery store is less than ¼ mile away. There is a free shuttle available during the summer.

Getting Here and Getting Around
There is a year-round shuttle service and seasonal train service from Anchorage to Seward. There is a free shuttle around town during the summer season. There are also taxi services available as well. A bike will get you most places you want to go in Seward.
If the opportunity presents itself, we encourage you to take the train ride down to Seward or from Seward to Anchorage just for the experience! You will ride right through the heart of the Peninsula and see why so many of us came for a summer and never left.
For year-round positions, we recommend having your own vehicle to adequately explore the surrounding peninsula.
