Our Season is roughly from May to September and this year we are hiring: 1 Store Manager, 2 Retail Leads, 1 Merchandising & Replenishment Manager, and 6 Retail Sales Associates.

  • Store Manager

    Retail
    Seward, Alaska
    $16.00 / hour

    Position Overview:

    We’re looking for a friendly, communicative, and customer service-oriented Store Manager to oversee daily operations at Brown & Hawkins. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Managing all aspects of store operations, including Guest service, marketing, merchandising, and inventory management.
    • Will be responsible for training all store employees, establish work schedules and assignments, and provide guidance to your Team.
    • Foster a collaborative and productive Team environment.
    • Ensure compliance with various health and safety regulations
    • Ability to multi-task, coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions and meet deadlines
    • Oversee inventory levels; Verify the delivery of all merchandise, stay in contact with vendors, shippers, and warehouse manager as needed,
    • Manage all controllable costs to keep operations profitable

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • 1-2 years of experience in a retail management environment.
    • Experienced in managing and training a Team of at least 4-6.
    • Excellent verbal/written communication, computer and organizational skills 
    • Sound understanding of mathematics and strong reading comprehension skills 
    • Understands the importance of Customer Service 
    • Solid work ethic, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback.
    • Ability to analyze sales reports and strategically problem solve 
    • Self-motivated and works independently with minimal supervision
    • Typical working conditions are standing for extended periods of time. Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
    • Follows, implements, and B&H policies and procedures and safety policies.
    • Must have flexible work hours; day, night and/or weekends. Punctual and on time to work. May be required to work overtime, nights, and/or weekends.
    • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
    • Must successfully pass a background check.

    Travel Requirements: 

    Bank Deposits & Post Office runs. Must be insurable and have valid Driver’s license.

  • Retail Lead

    Retail

    $13.00 / hour

    Position Overview:

    We’re looking for a friendly, communicative, and customer service-oriented Retail Leads to help coordinate the day to day Store operations with the Store Manager. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Assigns daily tasks to Retail staff and ensure that the tasks are performed correctly and in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of customer service.
    • Assists with the receiving, tagging and merchandising of all incoming merchandise and communicates with Management to ensure that all received products are placed on the retail floor as soon as possible
    • Maintains consistent customer service standards.
    • Ensures correct pricing on all products on the floor
    • Work with team members to ensure that all products are stocked to correct levels and merchandised on the sales floor in an appealing and dynamic manner..
    • Follow through with information to team members on new products or procedures.
    • Full understanding of the point of sale system
    • Follows and implements all Wage and Hour standards/procedures; to include meal breaks and schedules in order to maximize floor coverage and customer service.
    • Trains new hires on POS system, products, overall safety and job responsibilities
    • May be required to work overtime, nights, and/or weekends.
    • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 6 months managing and training multiple people in a retail environment.
    • Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills along with basic computer skills.
    • Sound understanding of mathematics and strong reading comprehension skills 
    • Understands the importance of Customer Service 
    • Solid work ethic, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback.
    • An ability to analyze sales reports and strategically problem solve

  • Retail Sales Associate

    $12.00 / hour

    Position Overview:

    We’re looking for a friendly, communicative, and customer service-oriented Retail Sales Associate to help our Team provide a great shopping experience and share our love of Alaska with Locals and Visitors. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Able to work with all types of Guests and provide courteous, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
    • Maintain consistent customer service standards.
    • Work with the Team to ensure that all products are accurately priced and stocked to correct levels and that merchandising is always dynamic and appealing.
    • Learn and actively shares details about the characteristics and origin of merchandise
    • Wrap and mail merchandise purchases on request.
    • Assist with all opening or closing procedures.
    • Assume all responsibility for gift shop bank/till.
    • Keep the Store neat, orderly and safe.
    • Full understanding of the point of sale system.
    • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
    • May be required to work overtime, nights, and/or weekends.
    • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 3-6 months of retail store or cash handling experience.
    • Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills along with basic computer skills.
    • Understands the importance of Customer Service.
    • Self-motivated and works independently with minimal supervision.
    • Typical working conditions involve standing for extended periods of time. Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
    • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company dress code at all times.
    • Solid work ethic, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback.
    • Must have flexible work hours; day, night and/or weekends while always being punctual and on time to work.
    • Must successfully pass a background check.
