Brooks Lodge
Bartender

Brooks Lodge operates under a Concessions Contract with the National Park Service and is the busiest of the three lodges. The lodging capacity at Brooks is for 64 guests. In addition, there is a campground for 60 people nearby and Brooks is also a popular fly-in destination for day trips that include fishing and bear viewing.
Bartender: Serves beverages during afternoon and evening hours at the lodge. Responsible for stocking and maintaining control of the bar area and assuring that all State of Alaska beverage dispensary laws are being followed. Must be able to operate a cash register, is responsible for cash accountability, and must have a site-specific TAP card. Other duties include cleaning the bar and lounge area at closing. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Camp Assistant

Brooks Lodge is located in the heart of Katmai National Park on the Brooks River! At Brooks, we carry an operating staff of twenty-six individuals in combination with the multitude of Bears, Eagles, and fish all with the purpose of providing our guests with an extraordinary experience.
Camp Assistant:
As a member of our Camp Assistant team, you are our first and last contact with guests arriving and departing the lodge and so if you are an active people person, this is the job for you. Basic job duties include but not limited to: working as an active part in our float plane schedule handling airplanes and managing arriving and departing guests, loading and unloading aircraft, cleaning lodge, splitting firewood, handling freight, mowing, and other outside related lodge tasks.

Chef / Kitchen Manager: Oversees all kitchen operations including supervising and participating in all food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, food ordering, proper food storage and rotation, inventory, quality control, schedules, special diet requests, kitchen cleanliness, and adherence to U.S. Public Health Service Standards.
Must have a current ServSafe manager certification and HACCP. Three years of kitchen supervisory experience in a restaurant operation that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Preparation for 350 to 500 covers per day incorporating a family-style buffet menu.

As a member of our Housekeeping / Food Service team, you would be responsible for the daily cleaning and turnover of guests' rooms as well as being a part of our three meal services. This can include but not limited to running food, bussing tables, operating the cash register, and communicating with guests daily meal offerings.
Morning Cook / Baker
Brooks Lodge operates a Concession contract with the National Park Service where we provide all guest services within the Brooks area. Including lodging, tours, and meals.
As a Cook, you shall be responsible for the execution of the menu in a timely and efficient manner based on daily guest numbers and needs. Along with being the primary cook for meal services the first half of the day, you shall also be prepared to assist in other areas of food preparation for the lodge, stocking, cleaning, and other tasks as assigned by our head chef.
Prior cooking experience and knowledge of a wide array of kitchen equipment and tools are expected.
Prep Cook

Kitchen Staff: Positions include First Cook, Breakfast Cook and Prep Cooks. All positions assist in food preparation, baking, stocking, cleaning and other assigned tasks. Prior experience required and a ServSafe Certification is a plus. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Sport Fishing Guide
Approximate Season Dates: May 10 - September 25
Brooks Lodge operates a concession contract with the National Park Service inside of Katmai National Park. The lodge holds up to 64 guests seeing day and multi day traffic from all over the world.
We are seeking a motivated, skilled, high energy, people-oriented individual for a diverse operation that specializes in fishing and eco-tourism based adventures.
We offer a diverse fishing program that covers everything from fly fishing the Brooks River(where the lodge is located) for trophy sized Rainbow Trout, fishing lakes for Pike, hiking small streams for large Trout and Char, and trolling for trophy Rainbows and Lake Trout.
Fishing Guide:
Extensive fishing experience required. Must be versed in all phases of freshwater fishing including fly fishing, trolling, spin fishing. Must have limited OUPV license for Freshwaters and Rivers of Western Alaska or other USCG License. Basic boat maintenance experience a plus but not required. We would like, but do not expect you to be a master in all fishing aspects. We just expect a willingness to learn and adapt to a diverse program in order to please your guests making the lodge and yourself successful. Must be able to stand all day and lift 60lbs.
Tour Bus Drivers

Tour Bus Drivers:
Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a current Class B Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement.
At Brooks Lodge we operate a daily 23 mile each direction tour that goes out to the Valley of 10,000 Smokes which is the volcanic site that is actually the reason that Katmai exists today. Once at the visitor center at the end of the road, guests have the afternoon to hike and explore the valley before the bus returns to the lodge later in the afternoon.
Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Safe operation of a 28 passenger tour bus driving down the valley road and back in the afternoon/evening.
- Set up and take down of a sack lunch service for guests.
- Cleaning of bus and daily pre trip inspections
- Ability to lift and carry 40lbs.
- Driving shuttle vans between lakes with guests
Grosvenor Lodge
Chef / Lodge Keeper
Approximate Season Dates Mid to Late May - October 1
Grosvenor is a small boutique fishing lodge which hosts a maximum of 6 guests at a time and operates under a Concession contract with the National Park Service. The principal program at Grosvenor is sportfishing and the entire operation is run by three employees. Employees must be able to handle working in a remote setting and have excellent customer service skills.
Chef/Lodge Keeper: As a Chef/Cook you shall be responsible for the execution of the menu in a timely and efficient manner based on in house guest numbers and needs. You shall be responsible for cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner 7 days per week. During each meal service you shall be the primary face and customer service point for the guests.
Beyond cooking you shall oversee all kitchen operations, including ordering, inventory, quality control, special diet requests, and adherence to U.S. Public Health Service Standards. Must have or be able to obtain a current ServSafe Manager Certification. Must obtain a TAP (Alaska alcohol training) card, be certified in CPR,1st Aid, and AED. Prior professional culinary experience required a minimum of 2 years. Other duties include but are not limited to daily cleaning of guests' cabins, dishes, and lodge laundry while anglers are out fishing for the day. Wait tables during meal hours and bus tables. Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs.
- Prior cooking experience and knowledge of wide array of kitchen equipment and tools expected.
- Expected Work Week: 7 days per week: breakfast - dinner.
- Pay: approximately $5,500 per month + Tips (pooled amongst staff)
Katmai Air
Driver / Laborer
Live and work in King Salmon, Alaska!
Want to work around float planes?! We seek motivated, self starting individuals to join our team working at our float plane base in King Salmon. King Salmon is the starting point to almost all activities inside Katmai National Park and the starting point to all our guests journeys.
Job duties will include but are not limited to: Loading and offloading airplanes with luggage and freight, helping guests board planes, fueling airplanes, cleaning building, and running refuse.
- Pay depends on experience. Expected work week is 6 or 7 days per week. Standard overtime applies.

Lodge Keepers: Daily cleaning of guests’ cabins and lodge laundry. Wait tables during meal hours, bus tables, and help in the kitchen. Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Sport Fishing Guides

Sport Fishing Guides: Extensive fishing experience required. Must be versed in all phases of freshwater fishing including fly-fishing, casting, trolling, fly-tying and spin fishing. Extensive boat handling skills and basic maintenance experience also required. Must have an ROUPV license with Kvichak, Alagnak, and Nushagak River endorsements, USCG License for the Freshwaters and Rivers of Western Alaska or other qualified USCG License. Other duties as assigned. Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs.
