  • Lift Operator

    Lift Operations
    Harbor Springs

    Boyne Highlands is currently searching for new lift operators. This is a full-time position. You will have plenty of time to take advantage of the many perks that come with working at this beautiful resort! As a lift operator, you will be responsible for one of the most important roles in the resort, getting people up the mountain so they can ski and snowboard!

    • Pull levers to start, stop, and adjust the speed of lifts.
    • Assist skiers onto and from the lift and instruct them in safety procedures.

    • Perform snow maintenance on-ramps, terminal area, corral, and other areas as needed.

  • Tube Park Attendant

    Boyne Highlands is looking for new Tube Park Attendants! As the newest member of the Tubing Park team, you will monitor the activities at the tubing park. The main focus of the job is to maintain guest safety while ensuring an enjoyable experience for them. Tubing Attendants are expected to run all positions on the tubing track and be able to run the conveyor that accesses the park.     Great News! Boyne Highlands Resort is currently searching for new Housekeepers to join our team. Housekeepers are one of the most critical aspects of the resort and are primarily responsible for ensuring clean, orderly, attractive rooms throughout the resort. We are looking for both full-time and part-time team members, no experience is required! Our wages start at $14 an hour with a season bonus, along with plenty of other perks and benefits for working at our wonderful ski and golf resort! We are currently looking for Housekeepers for the Main Lodge, Heather Highlands Inn, and Vacation Homes.

    • Replace and/or clean soiled items in the room.
    • Disinfect and sterilize kitchenette and bathroom areas.
    • Sweep, vacuum, and polish floor areas.
    • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
    • Dust furniture and equipment.
    • Wash walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
    • Empty wastebaskets and replaces liners.
    • Clean all outdoor patio areas and furniture.
    • Take inventory to ensure adequate supplies. Restock carts and storage closets.
    • Keep utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
    • Complete any special tasks assigned by management.
    • Respond to Guest requests for additional supplies or information.
    • Keep supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
    • Maintain a clean, well-organized work area.
    • Assist other room attendants when necessary in any area of the resort.
    • Communicate with management which rooms have been cleaned.
    • Comply with our recycling program.

    Qualifications

  • Groomer Operator

    Grooming

    Grooming is a full-time, seasonal position at Boyne Highlands Resort. The primary focus of the groomer is to prepare and maintain a skiing surface that is safe and functional for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels using grooming equipment. We are currently looking for night shift groomers who can work from 11:45 PM to 8:45 AM with a lunch break. You will also get a variety of perks that come with working at an amazing ski resort!

The primary focus of Snowmakers is to produce machine-made snow, striving for quality and efficiency to help ensure early-season terrain as well as lengthening the ski season.

    • Flexibility to do other support jobs around ski area when temperatures are not favorable to make snow. Examples: Repairing hoses, glade work, painting equipment, and other odd jobs in preparation for ski season.
    • Regularly clean dirt and frozen snow from equipment and hoses. Shoveling snow from doors, hatches, and around work areas.
    • Recognize and correct unsafe equipment, placement of equipment, and/or working conditions.
    • Perform regular snow quality checks and calibrate equipment accordingly.
    • Working hours may need to be a flexible schedule that is based on mountain needs, weather, and snowmaking plans. This could include working many days in a row if weather conditions are favorable.

  • Lead Snowmaker

You will be in charge of the snowmaking operation, ensuring the snowmaking equipment is being run safely and efficiently. You will also maintain the system and perform repairs on the equipment. As a Ticket Scanner, you will be responsible for utilizing handheld RFID scanners to verify lift tickets as well as monitor RFID gate access. You will also answer guests’ questions and provide them with information about the slopes as well as the resort as a whole.     Responsibilities

    • Maintain, repair, and ensure safe operation of all Boyne Highlands chairlifts, carpets, and other cable rope transportation systems.
    • Prepare and safety check lifts for daily operation before Lift Operations arrive.
    • Perform scheduled routine maintenance as well as diagnostic maintenance.
    • Regularly inspect safety switches, control circuits, sheaves, bull-wheel liners, bushings, cables, grips, electrical systems, chairs, and towers for signs of wear, stress, or fatigue.
    • Conduct maintenance work and minor repairs on electrical motors, auxiliary engines, brakes, and brake rotors.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
    • Maintain certifications, licenses, and training as necessary.
    • Be able to understand and follow all ANSI, State, and Federal Guidelines.
    • Understanding maintenance recommendations of all ski lift manufacturers by interpreting diagrams and manufacture manuals.
    • Assist in other tasks as determined by the Lift Maintenance Manager, including but not limited to; lift construction, refinishing, lift operations, and other resort needs.
    • Willing and able to participate in all maintenance needs.

    Qualifications

    • Must be able to have a flexible schedule during the winter season (days/nights and/or weekdays/weekends)
    • Comfortable working outdoors in summer/winter including inclement weather
    • Must be able to lift/carry up to 60 pounds
    • Must have at least 2 years of Lift Maintenance experience
    • Be able to think critically and pay attention to detail.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    • Welcome guests to the skier services area and the resort.
    • Have knowledge of Boyne Highland’s products, services, promotions, and events, including a variety of pricing rates, discounts, special promotional days, and special events or happenings at the resort.
    • Assist Guest Services in handling resort-specific questions, announcements, and delivery of pertinent information.
    • Maintain work area in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion (inside or out).
    • Sit for long periods in the ticket booth and sell lift tickets to skiers, and on occasion be willing to work in cold temperatures outside for long periods to assist ticket scanners.
    • Ensure all skiers/riders have a valid season pass or lift ticket.
    • Be well versed in how to resolve conflict situations in a timely and respectful manner while providing excellent guest services in any circumstance.

    Qualifications

    • Experience with computers and/or Point-of-Sale systems preferred
    • Experience with cash handling preferred
    • Able to sit for long periods
    • Able to work outside for long periods occasionally

    Qualifications

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with scheduling, daily staffing levels, billing transactions, inventory, etc.
    • Ensure cleanliness of the restaurant, including service stations with maintaining a clean, neat, and well-organized work area.
    • Take appropriate action on any complaint or problem to ensure guest satisfaction.
    • Work closely with culinary and other departments to properly plan and coordinate the operation of the restaurant.
    • Maintain awareness of accident prevention, safety, and fire prevention.
    • Consistently look for new methods, techniques, equipment, and material that will improve the overall efficiency and/or quality of the department.
    • Supervise 8-12 team members, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members as well as addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Train new team members.

    Qualifications

    • Supervisors must possess ServSafe certification or acquire it upon hire.
    • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Must be at least 18 years old
    • Must have a high school diploma or GED
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred
    • Experience with point-of-sale software and Microsoft products such as Word and Excel preferred
