About Borealis Basecamp

Borealis Basecamp is a northern lights-focused adventure resort in Fairbanks, AK. We provide a unique experience with domed igloo-shaped rooms, with a clear ceiling for viewing the aurora from the comfort of your room. We provide extensive on-site activities, including snow machine tours, dog sledding, reindeer adventures, and helicopter tours. In addition to hotel guests, we offer day tours from Fairbanks through our Basecamp Adventures brand.

Borealis Basecamp is part of Stellar Collection, a group of leading travel and tourism companies in Alaska. One of our sister companies is Alaska Private Touring, which provides custom guided private multi-day tours across Alaska. During the summer, Borealis Basecamp provides transportation services for Alaska Private Touring.

We are looking for staff to be available to work in Guest Services. You will be working at the front desk, at  breakfast service or possibly both.

Front Desk Duties: 

• Greeting guests

• Delivering exceptional guest service

• Managing reservations

• Processing check-ins and check-outs

• Walking guests to their rooms

• Scheduling or answering questions regarding activities or tours

• Providing information about the area

• Maintaining a clean reception area

• Assisting with breakfast service

• Communicating politely and accurately with all other departments

Providing 5-star guest service by communicating well with guests by being friendly and fulfilling guest needs. 

Breakfast Server Duties: Breakfast shift is 6 am to 11:30 am daily.

• Set up breakfast service in the main lodge for guests to enjoy breakfast daily.

• Preparing food/drink displays & dining room for guest arrival.

• Greeting guests.

• Helping & interacting with guests during breakfast.

• Clearing tables

• Washing, drying and replacing dishes throughout the service.

• Restocking any food or condiments as needed during the service.

• Clean-up of breakfast service & dining room after service is over.

• Breakdown of food/drinks

• Cleaning of dining room

• Restocking of supplies

End of Season Bonus: A $1.50 per hour bonus is paid for every hour worked through the season to staff that finish the season. End of season bonus is NOT paid to staff that leave prior to the end of season date of April 12th.  

Housing: Onsite staff housing is available at a daily rate of $14.28. Each room is double or triple occupancy. Common areas with TV, Wifi, dining area, and exercise space. Private bathrooms & laundry facilities.  We have a staff chef that prepares lunch & dinner, with breakfast being a self serve continental breakfast of oatmeal, cereal, fruits, etc.

Starting pay: $15 / hr
