At Borealis Basecamp, we are dedicated to providing the best customer service in Alaska to our guests. We are an experiential destination just outside of Fairbanks, where guests from all over the world gather to watch the northern lights and experience Alaska’s beauty. We seek dedicated, friendly, energetic people who enjoy interacting with people from all over to join our team.

Duties: Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training staff members. Coaching, counseling, and providing corrective action to staff. Creating a friendly, welcoming, customer-service driven environment for guests and staff members. Communicating with other department heads, including front desk manager, housekeeping manager, activities manager, operations manager, and ownership as appropriate. Thinking creatively to solve problems that invariably arise with logistics. Ensure functionality of all on site systems including but not limited to: power systems, fresh water systems, grey water systems, heating systems, wireless network, preventative maintenance, and snow maintenance procedures. Upholding and monitoring all safety policies. Inventorying and maintaining proper stock levels of all fuels and consumables. Developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards. Willingness to work on ground level operations on a day to day basis.

Job Requirements: Professional demeanor, time management skills, resourcefulness. Ability to lift, rotate and place 50lbs. Background in construction and off grid systems is crucial to the duties of this position. Ability to negotiate uneven terrain in low light. Valid drivers’ license, reliable transportation, strong oral and written communication skills and creative thinking skills required. Willingness to work in the outdoors in Arctic climate crucial. Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours a day.
