The Allen/Graf Family of Blue Mountain Ranch is doing now what they've done for 79 years-making preparations for another fun-filled summer at their exciting camp located just west of Pikes Peak in beautiful Colorado. An anomaly in today's world, Blue Mountain Ranch remains a small, private co-educational summer camp attracting some of the finest families in American and throughout the world. Though some aspects of camp life remain much as they were years ago, exciting innovations have brought the program into the future. We limit our enrollment to no more than 100 campers each session. This allows us to know each child as an individual. We take pride in our family atmosphere, and we are entering our 79th year of camping. Our camp is a FUN camp, and while having fun in a clearly moral atmosphere, the campers learn about our environment, nature, and getting along with others. Our camp was founded by Coach Bill and Dorothy Allen who believed strongly in our duty as adults to be role models for youth. Our camp parents send their children to this camp because of its philosophy, https://www.bluemountainranch.com/philosophy.html . By being role models, our staff must maintain strong moral behavior over the course of the summer.
Our Counselors are college aged, must be at least 18 and a high school graduate. They live in cabins with campers, based on age 7-15, and teach or help teach four activity periods during the day. These activities are based on your interests, experiences, and knowledge. We want you to have fun as well.
Twice a week there is a counselor cook night. Staff signs up to either help cook or clean. Each week there is one day off from noon until 2 a.m. and another evening for 3 1/2 hours, 6 to 9:30 pm. We sign up for these as a group to ensure all cabins and activities are covered with proper ratios. Staff also receive about a 30 hours break between sessions.
Our starting salary for college students staying the whole summer is $300+ per week plus room and board, finalizing amount with accountant. College graduates staying the whole summer are paid $400+ per week, plus room and board. Additionally, each counselor is paid $100 for attending orientation. There is a performance based bonus at summer's end, if you stay the entire summer.
Come get paid to play in the great Colorado outdoors while making friendships that last a lifetime.
