  • Server - BV Lodge/Village - Summer 2021

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Take accurate orders and process effectively and efficiently.
    • Maintain a clean and neat appearance and comply with dress codes requirements, including name tag.
    • Serve food to customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
    • Perform cleaning duties in restaurant areas.
    • Stock and restock areas of restaurant as necessary.
    • Accurate cash handling and credit card processing required to training specifications.
    • Perform end of shift accounting and tip recording procedures.
    • Assists with group functions and banquets as scheduled.
    • Work cooperatively with other staff members.
    • Follow food safety and sanitation procedures according to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) preventative system.   
    • Take trash out on a daily basis or as necessary.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Requirements

    • 1-3 year years previous server experience preferred 
    • California Food Handler Certification
    • TIPS alcohol certification
    • Passion for food service environment
    • Excellent verbal communications skills
    • Ability to think quickly and trouble shoot to resolve guest concerns
    • Ability to work in a team environment

    Personal transportation recommended !!

    Physical Requirements

    Requires extensive time standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work extended hours at a rapid pace. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.     Essential Job Duties

    This position is responsible for performing cleaning and upkeep for Base Camp Hostel, Bear Valley Lodge and our Glampground (15 tent cabins).  A housekeeper maintains general cleanliness of facilities by cleaning rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, taking out trash, stocking and inventory control of supplies.

    • Clean guest rooms and hotel/lodge common areas as required
    • Clean commercial center restrooms and dormitory restrooms
    • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
    • Maintain a clean and neat appearance and comply with dress codes requirements, including name tag.
    • Organize, manage, and restock supplies, linens, and toiletries
    • Take trash out on a daily basis or as necessary
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Ability to multi task in a fast pace environment
    • Desire to help people enjoy the Bear Valley experience
    • If you’re applying for a position that requires you to handle cash, work extensively with children or you are given keys/security codes to facilities, you will be subject to a background check.

    Job Description

    • Informs Manager or MOD, when new bottles of liquor or supplies are needed.
    • Recognizes levels of intoxication and prevents customers from becoming intoxicated. TIPS TRAINED.
    • Maintains a safe work environment at all times.
    • Informs customer about current specials and practices suggestive selling of food and beverage products.
    • Restocks bar supplies, such as dry goods, all glassware, all juices, sodas, and garnishes.
    • Helps maintain cleanliness of bar and restaurant areas and equipment, TV, mirrors, signs, tables, windows, chairs, floors, etc. Cleans all bar area surfaces regularly. Cleans all surfaces during shift and at end of shift.
    • Maintains and cleans all liquor and draft beer control devices.
    • Records all Sales by ringing exact amounts into register.
    • Reads orders from waiter/waitress and fills and directs wait staff, when to serve in bar.
    • Greets customers in a courteous fashion, with world-class service in mind.
    • Completes Daily Bottle Beer Reconciliation and Liquor Report, review any shortages and overages and records them for management review.
    • Follow work schedule provided and review upcoming events.
    • Setup bar area and seating area prior to opening.
    • Checks opening inventory, notes any shortages or changes.
    • Pours and Dispenses Alcoholic Beverages to Legal age guests.
    • Rotates and restocks bar coolers, with inventory from walk-in cooler.
    • Changes tap on empty kegs. Reports any problems or leaks to MOS.
    • Maintains security of all bar supplies and inventory.
    • Maintains record of daily operations as required.
    • Responsible for accurate cash turn in/deposit
    • Provides tip reports for payroll
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Requirements

    • 1-3 year years previous bartender experience preferred
    • Passion for food service environment
    • Excellent verbal communications skills
    • Ability to think quickly and trouble shoot to resolve guest concerns
    • Must be 21+ years old
