Bear Basin Adventures ( ) is an outfitting business owned by a young, vibrant couple. We provide summer horse riding, fishing trips and fall hunting trips in the Wind River and Absaroka Mountains around Dubois, Wyoming and need a hard working cook to join our team.

Our summer season runs from June through mid-September followed by fall hunting in September through early November. We cater to families, individuals, groups and couples, offering a first class outdoor wilderness experience.

Safety and customer service are always at the forefront of our minds, with enjoyment and instruction a priority. Trips generally range from 4 to 7 days for groups of people between 4 and 15, plus staff.

Employee qualifications: We are looking for an enthusiastic, strong, able, energetic man or woman, able to plan and prepare quality meals for our pack trips and base camp rides. Experience cooking for groups and the ability to cook amazing food over an open fire is essential. A smart, flexible, hard working and fun loving outdoors person willing to share the beauty of Wyoming with our guests and work within a set budget will be an asset. We require you to be very clean and organized and to minimize food costs and waste. We also require some horse experience and being comfortable with horses and pack strings. You will be riding most days during the summer and may be leading a pack string.

Job description: Main responsibilities include meal planning, shopping for, preparing and cleaning up after meals for trips. Together with the owner, the employee will also help pack and/or saddle horses, assist guests while riding and set up camp for guests. Applicant will need to be comfortable with horses, guests, physical labor, long hours, variable work schedule and hard varied work. Most weeks you will be working 6 days per week. Days off are based on bookings and other work (such as vehicle/trailer cleaning) required. Sometimes you will be required to work a few trips back to back.

Housing: While not on trips or in base camp you will stay at our house in a separate room (share bath) and your meals will be included all except for scheduled days off. Your days off are your own and we encourage you to explore beautiful Fremont County with its amazing hiking, bike trails, rock climbing, photo opportunities, rodeos, bands and dining options.

Dates for employment: mid May through mid-September 2018.

Pay/Wages: Based on experience but ranges from $1,500-$1,600 per month. This includes your meals and board. Bonus, based on employee performance may be given. Tips are also extra which is dependent on numbers booked and generosity of clients. At a guess you should make an extra $200 per month average.

Requirements: Must have current vehicle license, own vehicle (neg), be able to drive a manual truck, be able to work the entire season and be 21 yrs or older.
