As a key role on our team, the Marina Manager ensures the safe and efficient flow of people and supplies through the Baranof marina.
This is accomplished through supervision of the dock jack team and by building strong working relationships with fishing guides, maintenance, and other managers.

Job Duties
Ensuring our guides are able to access the equipment and support necessary to execute their trips:
Equipment in the tackle shack is both accessible and secure
Maintaining clear records including inventories and vessel maintenance logs
Preparing equipment and boats to be in top working order before trips
Conducting Cedars runs as needed to deliver guests their fish
Risks on the dock are managed actively:
Actively managing dock safety, including monitoring the risks of slips, trips and falls
Supporting the dock staff to dock, load, and unload boats
Monitoring the fillet table for hazards such as knives, slime and obstructions to foot traffic
Maintain an overview of safety in the marina, scanning for hazards
Ensures the dock is clean and organized
Effective communication and working relationships are developed with guides and maintenance technicians at Ketchikan Marine:
Utilizes Fleet Management software (Fleetio) to track vessel hours and service
Hold guides to a high standard of vessel stewardship
Maintains awareness of tides, weather, daily schedules and their impact on operations

An ideal candidate will have:
Strong Attention to Detail: Identifies areas of dysfunction for improvement.
Great Communication: Interfaces professionally and effectively with Baranof team members and our community partners.
Remains Calm Under Pressure: Quality of work remains consistent under extreme pressure, such as when volume overwhelms the dock or time frames are tight.
Knowledge of Information Technology: Proficient with texting and Garmin devices including Navigation Unit, VHF and InReach systems.
Requires basic computer skills.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
Able to lift and carry 50 lbs
Boat handling experience preferred
Maintenance experience preferred, especially with outboard engines and boats
Experience with trailering boats preferred
Basic computer skills
