We are currently hiring for the following positions:

  • F&B - Cook I

    Food & Beverage
    Arapahoe Basin
    $20.50 / hour

    Starting Pay: $20.50 per hour

    Status: Seasonal Hourly (Non-exempt)

     

    Food and Beverage employees at Arapahoe Basin are committed to creating a day worth repeating for our guests ensuring “Legendary” service and food quality throughout our Food and Beverage outlets.

    As a Cook I at Arapahoe Basin you will work in our food court style restaurants and use basic preparation and cooking methods to create and serve food items to guests while providing excellent customer service.

    This position is our entry level cooking position and is typically assigned to one cooking station or service “window” in the food court each shift.

    You will be responsible for opening, operating, continued cleanliness and closing of your assigned F&B station on a daily basis.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Positively interact with and prepare food for guests in our food court style restaurants ensuring consistent, quality, food and excellent guest service.
    • Prepare F&B station for your shift with regard to business volumes including preparation of backups, sanitizer bins, and general organization of the kitchen area.
    • Prepare food items at assigned station according to recipes and A-Basin standards.
    • Rotate and store food supplies according to food safety guidelines and manager's instruction to minimize waste.
    • Adhere to sanitation and food handling procedures required by local and state health codes.
    • Follow procedures to create a safe work environment for yourself and others.
    • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in the Kitchen.
    • Be a team player and assist other team members to ensure the best overall quality in food and cleanliness in the kitchen.

  • F&B - Cook II

    This position is one step above our entry level and requires the knowledge and ability to handle higher business volume while working multiple kitchen stations or service “windows” in the food court each shift.

    The 6th Alley Bar & Grill is A-Basin’s primary table-service restaurant offering Breakfast, lunch, Après Ski and Dinner service with a full bar menu and eclectic food options.

    As a Host in the 6th Alley Bar & Grill you are responsible for coordinating the flow of the dining room to ensure each guest has the best experience possible.

    This includes greeting and seating guests in a professional and friendly manner, maintaining an accurate wait list and generally supporting other 6th alley team members.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Welcome and seat guests in a timely fashion while providing excellent guest service.
    • Maintain wait list and accurately inform guests of wait times while directing them to wait areas when necessary.
    • Work as part of a cohesive team and support Servers with any guest’s needs.
    • Maintain a sanitary restaurant including dining, serving, and waste areas, throughout any shift and in accordance with daily/weekly checklists.
    • May be asked to fill waters, remove dirty dishes, and clean tables.
    • Complete opening and closing procedures (side work) according to Manager's instruction.

  • Rental Shop Tech

    The Rental Shop Team at Arapahoe Basin is committed to giving our guests a day worth repeating every time they enter our Rental shop. We are passionate about skiing and snowboarding and love sharing that passion with our guests.

    As a Rental Shop Technician at Arapahoe Basin, you will work as a team to assist and fit guests with their selection of rental gear while answering questions and providing legendary customer service.

    This position may also perform maintenance and repairs on ski and snowboard equipment. Rental Technicians fulfill any other duties the Rental Manager, Assistant Manager, Rental Lead assigns and represents Arapahoe Basin in a professional manner.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Promotes the culture, values, and mission of Arapahoe Basin.
    • Work as a team to provide exceptional customer service to all guests in the rental shop to provide them with a day worth repeating.
    • Greet guests and identify their needs as they enter the shop.
    • Understand and communicate the rental & demo equipment packages and features to ensure the best match for the guests.
    • Ensure guests are well-equipped for a day on the mountain.
    • Fit guests with their needed rental equipment including boots, helmets, skis/snowboard, ski poles, etc.
    • Demonstrate a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events and manages smooth transitions thereafter to keep store operating to standard.
    • Properly utilize the RTP rental system to ensure all equipment is correctly checked out and checked in when returned.
    • Process returns of rental gear after guest use.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Supervises F&B staff in F&B operations, cafeterias or table service restaurant, including training, coaching, goal setting, performance evaluation, discipline and termination If needed.
    • Responsible for payroll, tip reconciliation, ordering, as well as hiring
    • Train staff to cash handling and service standards set forth by F&B management team.
    • Holds staff accountable for operational standards including attendance, grooming, task list, and overall service level.
    • Works closely with all F&B management to ensure cohesive message/ management of staff. 
    • Ensures that staff have the training and resources to do their jobs to the best of their abilities.
    • Maintain operational knowledge of all F&B systems including InfoGenesis and Agilisys applications as resources for communication and revenue collection for F&B Outlets. 
    • Opens/ Closes restaurant including but not limited to labor management, securing building, and daily reconciliation of POS.
    • Responsible for monthly inventory for all front of house items.

  • Food & Beverage Sous Chef

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Act as kitchen MOD in the absence of the Executive Chef.
    • Assist kitchen management with training and management of lower-level cooks.
    • Trains & supervises all employees in the kitchen operations.

    This includes being on site to assist other staff members with any lift issues as they arise as well as performing regularly scheduled maintenance and reporting on all aerial tramways and surface lifts in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and repair lift equipment, to ensure efficient, safe operation of all lifts.
    • Perform daily start-up procedures and complete daily operation log for all lifts.
    • Checks for abnormal sounds, appropriate fluid levels or other mechanical abnormalities throughout the course of daily work assignments.

  • Experienced Ski Patroller

    Ski Patrol

    Ski Patrollers at Arapahoe Basin are eligible for a staging program based on experience and tested knowledge which relates to applicable pay.

    Arapahoe Basin Ski Area is looking for experienced and motivated individuals to join our Ski Patrol team for the 22-23 winter season. We are looking for people who have at least 2 - 3 years of Ski Patrol specific experience and have current OEC or EMT-B certification. There will also be specific testing requirements to be completed upon hire and based on experience.

    As a Ski Patroller at Arapahoe Basin you are responsible for providing medical care and emergency services to the guests or employees on our mountain as well as completing winter ski trail maintenance. A successful candidate for this role has completed A-Basin Rookie Ski Patrol Training or has previous Ski Patrol experience.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Patrols, on skis, ski trails and slope areas to provide assistance and protection to skiers and report condition of trails, ski lifts, and snow cover on slopes.
    • Completes Patrol opening and closing procedures to ensure trails are compliant with all current safety standards and company safety policies
    • Provides proficient medical care or first aid in emergency operations and notifies medical personnel in case of serious injury
    • Understands all medical transport procedures and transports injured skiers using a toboggan when necessary
    • Trains continuously on Arapahoe Basin Ski Patrol operational standards and maintains knowledge of, complies with, and educates on the Ski Safety Act and Arapahoe Basin safety policies
    • Recognizes avalanche terrain and understands all safety procedures on low hazard routes while working under Blaster in Charge.
    • Responsible for promptly and accurately completing all incident forms and involves an Accident Investigator or Supervisor when necessary
    • Responsible for a high level of guest service and can demonstrate a high level of confidence with guest interaction including when disciplinary actions are necessary.

  • Lift Maintenance Electrician

    Lift Maintenance

    $20.25 / hour

    Pay Range: 20.25 – 30.50/hour

    Status: Year-Round Salary (Non-exempt)

     

    Lift Electricians at Arapahoe Basin are responsible for the maintenance of all aerial tramways and surface lift equipment during our winter and summer seasons. This includes being on site to assist other staff members with any lift issues as they arise, performing regularly scheduled maintenance, and reporting on all aerial tramways and surface lifts in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

    This position is also responsible for all Lift Mechanic I-IV duties.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Perform annually scheduled electrical maintenance on all lifts as directed

    • Carry out all work duties in accordance with ANSI B-77, CPTSB, NEC, OSHA codes and protocols

    • Practice total compliance with “Lock Out Tag Out” and confined space procedures to ensure a safe working environment at all times

    • Program, maintain, upgrade HMI touchscreens and PLC’s; install remote monitoring devices on chairlifts

    • Develop and follow written test procedures on all ski lift safety systems

    • Demonstrate the ability to read and understand electrical schematics

    • Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting including:

      • circuit tracing-panel navigation

      • advanced meter/scope usage

    • Be able to trouble shoot automation equipment

    • Fabricate and maintain electronic circuits as required

    • Work on low-voltage and high-voltage systems

    • Provide training and guidance for entry-level mechanics and electricians

    • Help determine the suspension of operations due to mechanical, weather, other concerns

  • Security I-II

    Risk and Safety
    Arapahoe Basin
    $22.00 / hour

    Starting Pay: $22.00/hr

    Status: Seasonal Hourly (Non-exempt)

     

    Description:

    The Security I position secures premises and personnel by: patrolling property; monitoring guest behavior on the Beach, in parking areas, and other base area locations; inspecting buildings and equipment; and assisting in cash-handling procedures. This job is responsible for providing overall assistance to many departments in regards to safety and loss prevention, all the while informing guests of policy and procedures.

    Security at Arapahoe Basin is eligible for a staging program based on experience and tested knowledge, which relates to applicable pay. See below for the individual staging requirements and duties.

    This position is highly independent and requires a self-motivated person who will enjoy being the "Keeper of the Zoo" in the storied atmosphere of Arapahoe Basin.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Provide high-quality guest service through visibility, verbal contact, and guidance to the proper code of conduct for all guests to enjoy a day worth repeating
    • Observe conditions throughout Base Area facilities and parking areas to address hazards
    • Provide escort and protection for other employees during cash-handling procedures and departure from work after dark
    • Serve as liaison with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado State Patrol, CDOT, and other agencies when necessary
    • Assist other departments as necessary to ensure that A-Basin’s regulations, rules, policies, and procedures are followed by all parties
    • Help guests with ski and snowboard equipment issues when there is suspicion of theft or an accidental mix-up of equipment from different parties
    • Review security camera footage to secure evidence of theft and/or to document other circumstances of importance
    • Provide assistance to Base Area operations at times of elevated labor needs such as heavy snow falls or high-volume guest arrival
    • Facilitate the proper exchange of contact information and incident documentation between parties involved in motor vehicle accidents as necessary
    • Provide high-visibility deterrence by completing regular foot patrols and observance throughout the resort

  • Warehouse Receiver

    Food & Beverage

    Starting Pay: $22.00/hr

    Status: Full-time Seasonal (Non-exempt)

    As the Warehouse Receiver at A-Basin, you are responsible for all F&B deliveries to ensure accuracy according to the invoice and storage location of product. These responsibilities include helping put away orders as well as ensuring proper storage of all perishable and non-perishable items in F&B outlets.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the point of contact for level 1-2 support for issues with RTP, Aspenware, and product configuration; escalate to the Product Manager as needed
    • Input data for RTP/Aspenware products with a focus on events, tickets, passes, rentals, and lesson products

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Follow A-Basin’s service standards including: welcoming customers, seating tables in accordance to a waitlist, bussing tables, running food, pouring beer and wine, and creating specialty coffee drinks

    • Work as a team in order to provide the best service possible

    • Transport dishes, food products, and other materials from back-of-house areas to front-of-house areas

    • Follow F&B cash-handling policies including: proper transaction and change-making procedures and accurate cash drops

    • Complete tasks according to Manager's instruction including: opening and closing procedures, side work, and weekly cleaning tasks

    • Check identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol
