Aramark Pikes Peak is the concessionaire for all three stores on the Pikes Peak Highway. We are open year round, our busiest months are May, June, July & August. Aramark Hospitality Management is committed to the safety of our teams, clients and customers. We have put in place new procedures and policies across our locations to keep everyone safe and healthy. From operations, and employee communities we are redefining the experience to meet safety guidelines while maximizing the seasonal experience. Aramark will continue to monitor available information and resources regarding COVID-19, including state and local law, and the following guidance may be modified as new information becomes available.
Here are a few things you can expect as a team member this summer:
Contactless Interviews: All our interviews for summer 2021 positions will be done via phone or video chat to ensure physical distancing.
Housing and Employee Communities: We have implemented a variety of practices to keep our team members safe including:
·Socially distant employee recreation programs
·Enhanced sanitation practices for all public areas and access to hand sanitizer across property
·Housing assignments based on social distancing guidance
Employee Training: Extensive and detailed training on all safety policies and procedures for each team member during their on-boarding and throughout the season.
Masks and Protective Equipment: Facial coverings and additional personal protective equipment are provided to all associates, based on your position.
The Employee Experience
Working on the mountain is truly one of the most unique experiences ever! Many of our guests are in awe of how you make it up the mountain daily. They will relish in your stories of getting up and down and working in different capacities to include food service, retail, custodial and some employees are even certified emergency medical technicians. The elevation of 14,115 feet is certainly something everyone is amazed by hearing. One of your most asked questions is "How do you get up here?"
The simple answer to the above question is we transport you and all employees up the mountain which takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour up a 19-mile road. We have two shifts during the summer hours and we are able to work around most schedules.
After working a season on Pikes Peak, many of our employees return back the following season as the experience is one that truly unforgettable.
The ideal candidate is one that enjoys working with others and can work in a team environment with a high volume of guests. Your customer service skills and ability to make our guests feel at home on this mountain is of the utmost importance. You must be a self-starter and enjoy keeping busy. Candidate must also possess excellent communication skills and be willing to go above and beyond to make all our guests feel comfortable.
Room and Board
We do not provide room and board; however, the city of Colorado Springs or Woodland Park Colorado are very close to the mountain. There are various facilities such as campgrounds for RV parking within 10 miles from the entrance of Pikes Peak. In Colorado Springs (a pickup point located between Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City) there are several apartment buildings or locations for rent. Our employees receive one free meal for each daily shift they work plus our world famous donuts which will not disappoint!
During the summer months, our facility is open and free to employees if they want to hike, bike, fish or do some pedal boating at our first store Crystal Reservoir. The employees receive 40% off all retail merchandise and 50% all food!
Getting Here and Getting Around
Colorado Springs is a very bike-friendly city and public transportation has a drop off point exactly where our employee van picks employees up. Therefore, there is no definite need for a car, but there is ample parking available if you do have a vehicle. Colorado Springs also has an airport served by most major airlines.
You can expect a fun-filled adventure living and working in this area. You will have the opportunity to hike, bike, climb, raft, canoe, ride, photograph, star gaze, bird watch, dance, attend music festivals and concerts and this is to only name a few things that will be available to you!
