Are you Colo-ready to rock it at Pikes Peak?
We operate all three stores on the Pikes Peak Highway year-round, including the newly rebuilt Summit House at 14,115' above sea level. Our busiest months are May through August, and on the clearest days, you can see five states. Discover for yourself the mountain that inspired the song "America the Beautiful." If you love the outdoors and love a beautiful view, this is the place for you!
Located adjacent to Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak is named after explorer Lt. Zebulon Pike. Its striking beauty has helped shape our nation's history, still bringing nearly six million people to the region each year to enjoy our world-famous views (and fresh donuts)!

The Employee Experience
A Job with Some Altitude!
Working on the mountain is truly one of the most special experiences ever! Many guests are in awe of how you make it to your spot on the mountain every day. The elevation of 14,115' is certainly jaw-dropping. In addition to some great stories of getting up and down Pikes Peak, you'll gain hands-on experience in the career area of your choice, including food service, retail, custodial, and emergency medical technicians.
How will you get to your spot on the mountain every day? Simple! We'll transport you and your teammates up the mountain, which takes about 60-75 minutes up a 19-mile road. All employees are paid for transportation time.
After working a season on Pikes Peak, many of our employees return the following season, eager for the same unforgettable experience.
Hours Expectations: Many of our roles are year-round positions with a fluctuation in hours. In the "off-season" of November through April, you can expect to work around 30 hours a week. However, once peak season kicks off in May, you'll be working 40 hours a week with overtime available from time to time. Schedules are typically 3 to 4 days a week, with additional scheduled days if available!
The ideal teammate is someone who enjoys working with others and can work in a team environment with a high volume of guests. Your customer service skills and ability to make our guests feel at home on this mountain is super importance for success. We look for self-starters, great communication skills, and passion to go above and beyond in making all guests feel comfortable.
Additionally, the ideal candidate is someone with flexibility, able to work long shifts, and comfortable working all day at 14,115' above sea level.
Room and Board
We do not provide room and board onsite. Most of our employees live in Colorado Springs and Woodland Park, which are very close to the mountain. In Colorado Springs, there are several apartment buildings and locations to rent. Additionally, there are campgrounds for RV parking within 10 miles from the entrance of Pikes Peak.
Our employees receive one free meal for each daily shift they work, plus our world-famous donuts will not disappoint!
- One free meal when working a <10-hour shift and a second free meal when working a +10-hour shift
- 40% off all retail merchandise and 50% off all food beyond your meals while on shift
- Paid transportation time up and down the mountain on our Employee Shuttle
- Free entry to Pikes Peak on your days off
Getting Here and Getting Around
Colorado Springs is a very bike-friendly city, and there is a public transportation drop-off point exactly where our employee van picks teammates up. Therefore, there's no definite need for a car, but there is ample parking available if you do have a vehicle. Colorado Springs also has an airport served by most major airlines.
You can expect a fun-filled adventure living and working in and around Pikes Peak. You'll be able to hike, bike, climb, raft, canoe, stargaze, bird watch, shop, and head to music festivals - only to name a few activities you'll get to enjoy when you're not working.
