Beyond Maine's bustling seaports and crowded resort towns lies an untarnished wilderness replete with mountain landscapes and countless remote fishing ponds. Escape to the tranquility of flowing rivers and spectacular waterfalls in the heart of untouched wilderness. Wake up to the echoing calls of native loons and spot an elusive moose. Discover dramatic vistas along miles of interconnected trails or try your hand at landing one of the bountiful brook trout and landlocked salmon that inhabit the nearby ponds and streams. This full time, seasonal position has a consistent five days on and two days off schedule. There is multi-season opportunity with housing available on-site. Our Summer/Fall season runs early May to November (Winter Season runs mid-December to mid-March/April). Opportunities for alternative work assignments during off-season periods may be structured.
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- All aspects of meal preparation and delivery, from menu planning and purchasing, to storage, service, and clean-up.
- Creating wholesome, healthy and high-quality meals from scratch, while utilizing natural, local and high-quality ingredients.
- Meeting all guest’s diets and special needs as required.
- Meeting Maine Health Codes and Standards by always maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, dry-storage, refrigerator, and freezers.
- Meeting Maine Health Codes and Standards by storing, preparing and disposing of food properly.
- Implement energy conservation and environmentally sound practices in daily operations.
Requirements: Enthusiasm for living in and sharing a wilderness environment is a must! The ideal candidate will also have prior meal planning, purchasing and cooking experience, exceptional customer service skills and an outgoing, friendly attitude.
