JOB TITLE: Breakfast Cook; seeking creatives who are looking for a non-commercialized atmosphere with a desire to live in the backcountry of Alaska in our quaint & historic homesteaded log cabin lodge!
AVAILABILITY: May 31 - September 10
FOOD & HOUSING: Free food & housing. Free dry cabin styled Yukon tent w/ roomate and free room & board.
LOCATION: Kenai Backcountry Lodge - lakeside to glacial waters and surrounded by designated wilderness, only accessible by boat with a 30 minute ride across the lake to the nearest road system. The Kenai Backcountry Lodge is quintessential Alaska, as our main lodge has been preserved as a 1930's homesteaded cabin. All guest cabins are accessed via boardwalk to have a mindful presence of the plant life and living eco-systems of the forest floor. The lodge is powered via solar array and a few small steps away from a glacially fed lake. Our team is made up of many longtime employees and first year team members, for a total of 13 team members at the lodge.

CONS: Unreliable internet connections and spotty cell phone service, for those looking to work on a large team- you may not have your needs met as our staff size total is 13-14 folks, kayak opportunities weather permitting, leaving the lodge on the weekends is available depending on weather and transportation.
JOB OBJECTIVE: To prepare & present and upscale, homemade breakfast service for 10- 20 guests, to be served in a family style dining setting with creative homemade touches. The Breakfast Cook will place an emphasis on presentation and quality, while appealing to a variety of palettes. This role rotates as a Lead and Assistant cook.
