JOB TITLE: Vehicle Mechanic

AVAILABILITY: May 10 - September 20

WAGE: $28.00/hourly DOE + free food & housing + $1,000 sign-on bonus

FOOD & HOUSING: Free food & housing. Free dry cabin styled Yukon tent w/ roomate and free food with Chef prepared dinners served daily.

LOCATION: Based at the Kenai Riverside Lodge in Cooper Landing, AK with private access to the Kenai River on site

JOB OBJECTIVE: To address all mechanical needs at the Kenai Riverside Lodge, including but not limited to, preventative vehicle maintenance, oil and filter changes, startup and winterization procedures, as well as working to improve and maintain existing systems while ensuring the proper operation of equipment, tools, and vehicles. 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. In-depth knowledge of tools, vehicles, outboards, machinery, equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot problems and think on your feet 

  2. Possess the ability to work within a team structure and in a flexible manner to accomplish a variety of tasks

  3. Ability to live and work in a remote, communal, camp-like atmosphere and contribute positively to the community around you

  4. Basic auto mechanics and vehicle fleet maintenance; small engine and appliance repair; boat and utility trailer repair and maintenance; simple welding techniques

  5. Keeps and maintains accurate records of work performed and the condition of vehicles and equipment. Specifically maintaining documentation of projects completed, parts replaced, systems altered, suggesting inventory needs etc. to serve as a maintenance record and support for subsequent seasons
