Food and Beverage/Wine Steward
Apply NowFood and Beverage/Wine Steward: Works as a member of the Food and Beverage team, reports to Food and Beverage Manager. Key traits for success: reliability/responsibility, time management, customer service, attention to detail, wine knowledge and appreciation, organization. Wine stewards are primarily responsible for becoming knowledgeable about wines in general, and particularly about A Bar A’s wine selection, and are expected to provide a high level of wine service to our guests. They help guests make wine selections at dinner, present and serve wine appropriately, and provide pouring service throughout the meal. Recording sales, reporting them to the office manager, tracking inventory, and notifying the F&B Manager of re-order needs are critical tasks. Wine stewards also share the responsibilities of the general food service staff. Wine stewards and bartenders are required to enforce A Bar A policies and Wyoming State Law for guest and staff drinking and bar hours. [see Food Service Staff description]
Food Service: Responsible for contributing to all areas of staff and guest food service, in addition to serving meals. These responsibilities include preparing the dining rooms and other meal service areas (e.g., cookouts) for meals, bussing tables, washing dishes, cleaning up meal areas after meals, and regular deep cleaning of the dining room, kitchen, and other food service areas. Food service staff must maintain high standards of cleanliness and provide top-quality customer service and dining experiences for ranch guests and staff. Food service staff work closely with the cooks and culinary staff. When they are not needed for regular food service staff duties, they are expected to assist other departments on the ranch, including cabin hosts, Children’s program, landscaping, etc.
Wine Stewards work a 6-day week with an average of 9 hours/day. They work daytime and evening hours. They must be able to lift/carry at least 40 pounds.
