The 4UR Ranch

The 4UR Ranch in Creede has been around since the late 1870s; well known for its hot springs and the excellent fly fishing found at this beautiful mountain ranch.  Rich in history, it has been listed on the National Register for Historic Places, an honor we are most proud of. While our history may be deep, we are always innovating and implementing new, exciting and unique ideas to offer our guests the most memorable vacation experience.

The 4UR Ranch today operates as a luxury guest ranch. We see guests from all over the country and the world that travel great distances to spend a week at the ranch. Once here, they spend their time taking advantage of all the ranch activities. Fly fishing, hiking,  mountain biking, soaking in the hot springs, shooting sports, and so much more. Every meal is prepared with great care and tact from a world-class kitchen staff to fuel the next journey or activity in our guest's day. Families have been staying at the ranch for over five generations; they have become our family at this point really. The 4UR Ranch operates in a genuine and truly special arena of hospitality.  We love that our staff spends so much time getting to know our guests week after week. We also find it so rewarding that our guests love to build a relationship with the staff and get to know them. At the 4UR Ranch, we always see more hugs than handshakes.

The Position

Individuals who apply to work as ranch hands should expect strenuous outdoor activity and physical workdays. Typical daily ranch duties include building fences, basic maintenance of buildings and swimming pools, basic vehicle upkeep, stocking firewood and hauling all materials needed for guest cookout events. Additionally, ranch hands are responsible for guest transport to and from the regional airport, loading and unloading guest luggage. Ranch Hands must have a positive attitude, good manners, and the self-confidence to handle guest interactions maturely. Ranch hands must also have a willingness to learn and the confidence to work out challenges and solve problems.

Company Culture

At the 4UR Ranch, we put an emphasis on teamwork, trust, and commitment in the workplace.  We view all members of our team as family and treat each other how we want to be treated.  The pace of work can be fast and challenging at times but the reward is always worth it.  During off time, the staff has access to everything out guests enjoy from fly fishing, horseback riding, shooting sports, the hot springs and more.  Additionally, the beauty of the ranch is further enhanced when spending time around the surrounding area.  Around the area are attractions such as The Great Sand Dunes National Park, Lake San Cristobal, the towns of Durango and Pagosa and much more.  Furthermore, the area is a hot spot for many folks, country and bluegrass festivals throughout the summer and also features Colorado's oldest pro rodeo.  The 4UR provides an amazing work experience but also provides a great life experience enhanced by the wonderful people you will form lifelong connections with.
