Unbelievable Work Experience in the Beautiful San Juan Mountains

4UR Ranch - Southwest Colorado

Head Housekeeper

4UR Ranch
Creede, Colorado
Some experience required
Start Date:
Job starts in about 1 month (Apr 01, 2020)

The 4UR Ranch in Creede, Colorado has been around since the late 1870s; well known for its hot springs and the excellent fly fishing found at this beautiful mountain ranch.  Rich in history, it has been listed on the National Register for Historic Places, an honor we are most proud of. While the history may be deep, we are always innovating and

implementing new, exciting and unique ideas to offer our guests the most memorable vacation experience.

One of the most important departments the ranch has is housekeeping.  Their job responsibilities are paramount to the success of the 4UR. The concept that “you never get a second chance to make a first impression” is tried and true and makes the position of housekeeping essential. The first time a guest checks in at the lodge or walks into their room to unpack for their vacation, it is that first impression that will set the tone for their entire stay. It is not an easy job but it is the very core of success in the hospitality business.

Our housekeepers must have great attention to detail, good social skills, and enjoy working in a team environment. Responsibilities will include daily cleanliness of guest rooms, common areas, and all guest buildings, and evening turndown service. When guest room duties are finished, housekeepers will be expected to help in other areas of the ranch including keeping the grounds attractive, childcare, or other areas of need.

The Position

To head this team of housekeepers, the 4UR is looking for a dedicated leader who leads through example.  The individual must be willing to perform all necessary duties as an equal and cooperative member of the team.  This management position at the 4UR is responsible for a department of 7-9 staff members. The position will be responsible for implementing the current training program, all April spring cleaning responsibilities, scheduling, ordering supplies and scheduled cleaning of owners/managers homes.

Communication with ranch managers is a large part of the housekeeping manager’s duties.  The job will start at the beginning of April with a 5 day a week, 8 hour a day work week. Once the season begins (1 June - 10 Oct.), workweeks will be 6 days a week, roughly 40-48 hours a week.

The salary is dependent upon experience.  The applicant will also receive an end of season bonus based on performance as well.  Additionally, during time off, guests activities are able to be enjoyed as well. These perks include horseback riding, hot springs, private fly fishing, shooting sports, hiking, and so much more.

We provide our guests with the highest level of service and care.  We carry that attention to our staff as well; we say and truly believe that our staff is our biggest asset.  Without their efforts, none of this would be possible. We value teamwork, respect and leadership in and out of work and treat our staff as family. We promote a culture of honesty, openness and respect throughout. We are positive that you'll make at least one friendship here that will last a lifetime.  With so many unique and vibrant personalities paired with the beautiful natural setting, it's extremely hard to have a bad day.

Off Time

Outside the ranch, the town of Creede is just 12 miles away. It’s filled with history, charm  and nostalgia. There’s no shortage of fun, especially during the summer. The town has a wide array of shops and boutiques as well as the highly regarded Stephen Quiller gallery.  Outside of Creede, there are several music festivals that happen in nearby towns of Pagosa Springs and South Fork. The Great Sand Dunes National Park is just over an hour away. There’s also plenty of trails, mountains and lakes to hike around the area.  Furthermore, Colorado’s oldest pro rodeo occurs in the nearby town on Monte Vista. With all that, we’re sure that on and off the ranch, there’s plenty of opportunities to make the most of free time. We look forward to seeing you become a member of our team!
