Camp Erdman is a YMCA camp located on Oahu’s North Shore. We specialize in youth development by getting kids to unplug, get outside, and make real connections.
YMCA Camp Erdman is a year-round camp and conference facility. Summer camp runs from late May to early August, school programs run from August to May, and conference and retreats run year round.
We look for hardworking individuals who want to be at camp for the right reasons. At camp, you will work long days and won't have much time off. You will also make a difference in children's lives, grow personally, and have the adventure of a lifetime.

- Summer Camp Season
- Unit Leaders, Teen Staff & Program Staff: May 24 - August 7, 2015
- All Staff: May 30 - August 7, 2015
- Intern Season: Year Round by Semester (Fall, Spring, Summer)
Intern (3 month unpaid placement) - Fulfill your college requirements as a Camp Intern.
Cabin Counselor ($175 per week) - Lead a group of youth on the adventure of a lifetime at our overnight summer camp.
Program Staff ($185 per week) - For experienced staff who feel they are ready to lead program area in our overnight summer camp. Program areas include sports, art, nature, lifeguarding, English as a Second Language and more.
Support Staff ($175 per week)
Nurse Aide - ($175 per week) - Assist Camp Nurse with all aspects of health care. Nursing student or significant experience with health care required.
Welcome Center Staff / Media Coordinator ($175 per week) - Sell items in camp store and assist with administrative duties. Take and post photos daily for parents to see.
Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for outgoing, energetic, personable leaders. Camp Staff must be prepared to work long days and put in 100% at all times. Staff should enjoy working with kids and spending time outdoors. While there are no specific required qualifications we are looking for people to be role models to the children we serve.
Experience working in a camp setting is preferred.
Room and Board
Housing is provided to all program staff. Counselors and Program Staff live in cabins with kids. Other staff live in dormitory style staff housing. 3 meals a day are provided in our camp dining hall. All meals feature a vegetarian option.
Staff and volunteer trips and fun days are organized by our director team.
Getting Here and Getting Around
Camp is isolated on the North Shore. There is a staff van that is used for staff and volunteer trips, etc.
All staff and volunteers are responsible for the cost of flying to Hawaii. We will transport you from the airport to camp when you arrive on the island.
