YMCA Camp Erdman

Join us in Hawaii on Oahu's North Shore

Camp Erdman is a YMCA Camp located on The North Shore of Oahu, we specialize in providing unforgettable experiences to kids from across the world.

Camp Erdman is a year round camp facility. In the summer we run traditional resident camp programs, in the Fall, Winter and Spring we run leadership and environmental education programs for schools as well as retreats and conferences.

Season Dates:

Resident Camp Season: May 24th - August 10th

School Programs Season: August 5th - May 30th

Our Jobs

Summer Camp - Counselor (paid position) - Lead a group of youth on the adventure of a lifetime at our overnight summer camp.

Summer Camp - Program Staff (paid position) - For experienced staff who feel they are ready to lead activities in our overnight summer camp.

Volunteer (3 month unpaid placement) - Come any season (it’s always sunny here!) to assist with school groups, retreats, and other exciting programs.

Intern (3 month unpaid placement) - Fulfill your college requirements as a Program Instructor on our ropes course and/or in recreational activities.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for outgoing, energetic, personable leaders. Camp Staff must be prepared to work long days and put in 100% at all times. Staff should enjoy working with kids and spending time outdoors. While there are no specific required qualifications we are looking for people to be role models to the children we serve.

Experience working in a camp setting is preferred.

Room and Board

Housing is provided to all program staff. During Summer Camp and our school break camps staff live in cabins with kids, the rest of the year staff live in dormitory style staff housing. 3 meals a day are provided in our camp dining hall. All meals feature a vegetarian option.

All staff housing is less than 200 yards from the beach....

Perks

Staff and volunteer trips and fun days are organized by our director team.

Depending on the season you may receive certifications and trainings such as first aid, CPR, Lifeguarding, High Ropes, Teambuilding etc.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Camp is isolated on the North Shore. There is a staff van that is used for staff and volunteer trips, etc.

All staff and volunteers are responsible for the cost of flying to Hawaii. We will transport you from the airport to camp when you arrive on the island.
